It was so close to the attractions we couldn’t have been better placed. The room was modern and clean and the staff were good. And what a novelty having a shower that’s not in the bath. Fantastic. There are surprisingly few hotels that offer a stand alone shower which you would think is normal practice in this day and age.

Straight next to the station. Extremely value for money. Always great views if you are higher up. One side overlooks main station, other side over the square and city. Room was spacious, luxurious and a very pleasant feel to it. I felt like I was in a 10 star hotel, it's luxury all over the place. Staff very helpful and friendly. No problem storing my bags for the day, on the day I left. One of the nicest hotels I've stayed in.
Bonus tip: Greek restaurant across the road is really good.
Bonus tip 2: If you are into steam trains, only 15 minutes by train in two different directions, you have daily steam train rides from March to November. Search for Weißeritztalbahn and Lößnitzgrundbahn. Also the Museum for transport (Verkehrsmuseum) in the centre of Dresden is very much worth a visit.

Known as the 'Jewel Box', Dresden is a stunning German city with rich history, an important classical music scene, and an unforgettable Baroque and Rococo-inspired city centre.
Located on the banks of the Elbe River, the whole city was destroyed during World War II, but has now been rebuilt into one of the most interesting places in Europe. Like a phoenix from the ashes, the Church of Our Lady (Frauenkirche) is an imposing building that is one of the most beloved symbols of the city.
Magnificent Zwinger Palace is the main Dresden attraction, featuring impressive pavilions and a majestic garden in the middle. Continue your journey along the cultural centre of Germany and visit the picturesque Baroque square of Neumarkt. Also not to be missed is Brühl Terrace, a promenade nicknamed the 'Balcony of Europe', because of its excellent view of the River Elbe.
Enjoy a relaxing stroll around the city and you will find a selection of cosy Dresden restaurants and beer gardens serving local dishes and fine wines from the surrounding vineyards.
Dresden Airport is the international airport located in the district of Klotzsche, featuring a railway station in the terminal building. Take the train and head to your Booking.com hotel, guest house or apartment.
Everything! Easily my favourite city to visit in Germany so far for its sheer beauty. Amazingly I got last minute tickets to the Semperoper (the opera) to watch “The Magic Flute”.
The architecture, the food, the people are what make Dresden the special place it is.
The Hop on Hop off bus tours are great as they take you to the suburbs in the hills that you would otherwise not get a chance to see. Great views and a good cafe in one suburb to have a coffee.

I went for trains and there is a lot for train fans.
I went for trains and there is a lot for train fans. Two narrow gauge steam trains, only 15 minutes by train away from the main station: Weißeritztalbahn and Lößnitzgrundbahn. The Transport museum (Verkehrshaus) next to the Frauenkirche is also worth a visit. Take the 1.5 hour train east to Zittau and you get to another great and famous narrow gauge steam train line. And you are only scratching the surface here. If you are in the UK, take the Eurostar to London, then continue with the Eurosleeper in a direct train to Dresden. You can even easily make a day trip to Prague!

Dresden’s history is mind boggling.
Dresden’s history is mind boggling. There are so many areas worth exploring, both within the city and on the outskirts. Rapid transit is easy to negotiate.
Dresden was certainly the cultural Center of Germany and, despite being bombed at the end of WW2, the resilience of Dresdeners helped restore a unique city.

Dresden has obviously much to offer in terms of history, with its many museums or locations that have something to tell about it. Like the Semper Oper, which offers guided tours - also for kids (I would recommend for families); Zwinger with its science exebition; beautiful rebuild Frauenkirche with its catacombs etc.
But also "die Neustadt" with many culinary restos, the art district, the Elbufer - especially in summer. As well as the many hiking trails, Bastei Bridge, many castles like Moritzburg or Königstein Fortress (take at least 5h for that. it also hold a museum)
There were many more things to see, which we could not cover. So, a good reason to go back soon.

Although I have travelled to other parts of Germany, I had never seen Dresden. It is a remarkable city! I parked at the underground garage at the Frauenkirche, which was centrally located to many of the points of interest. I visited the Fuerstenzug, which is the Procession of Princes, created on tiles. So impressive! I toured the Palace. Make sure you get the complete ticket that takes you through the Green Vault. Amazing jewelry and priceless artifacts. Walking around, it's architectural overload! Also, don't miss going into Camondas Chocolate Store!
My hotel room was HUGE. This was a phenomenal surprise, especially given the location. The Hotel is around the corner from a ton of excellent restaurants, and only a short short walk from the city center were one can find beautiful outdoor terraces with wonderful views of the city. Once construction in the market in front of the hotel is finished, I'm sure there will also be another excellent view on the doorstep. I will happily stay here again next time I need to be in Dresden.
Incredible location in the historic area of beautiful Dresden. The room was lovely; well set out, gorgeous amenities and pillows to die for! I slept really well and awoke every morning to young music students busking in the street below. The hotel bar was super, and the lobby was welcoming and comfortable. The wellness area in the old cellars was fabulous and I enjoyed a spa treatment. The Hyperion had just the right amount of luxury whilst also feeling comfortable.
This is an excellent hostel close to the old town/city centre. Easy check-in at the café next-door.
The rooms are large and in a very good shape. Different rooms have different decor.
A very nice kitchen with a large table. Large and fresh shower rooms.
Tram stop outside the door and S-bahnstation within 5 min walk.
I recommend this hostel to everyone planning to visit Dresden.
Very nice hotel, professional appearance. Rooms are fairly spacious, aircon works fine. There's enough parking space - at a costs, 10 euros per 24 hour. Breakfast is nice, lots of choice and clean area. Location is not close to the old town, but across the hotel is a busstop to get you there. It is conveniently located to visit Dresden center and Bastei.
It was super clean, the beds were very comfortable.
Very spacious, terrace included, windows everywhere with adorable flowers. Cheap parking, calm, charming area and altogether an amazing stay. One of the best we have visited. Super good value for money, especially in Germany where everything is usually too expensive, this was PERFECT!
We only stayed 1 night being in transit from Germany to Poland, but I must say the hotel was really nice. Comfy room, good breakfast, great location - close to old town and main attractions (15 min walk, there is also a tram stop just in front of the hotel). REWE and Aldi supermarkets are within 10 min walk as well.
beautiful hotel in an excellent location.
The suit was exceptionally clean, the beds were very comfortable and we loved all the space.
The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly and made this weekend in Dresden very enjoyable.
I will be recommending this hotel to everyone that wants to explore Dresden.
Location to Dresden HBF is only a short streetcar ride away. Location in the center of major sights is key, esp. in the winter. Easy to walk over the river, too. All walkable in Dresden. Saunas were an added benefit, esp. in the cold of winter. Hotel staff very helpful with printing museum tickets - thank you!
The hotel is the perfect location to visit all of the fabulous sights and restaurants of Dresden. It is located at the edge of the old town square. We had an executive suite which was fantastic. Very quiet with a wonderful bed. The staff was outstanding. We will be staying there in the future.
This is our second time in this hotel and we would come back again.
The location is excellent, the Zwinger is just down the street, and the old town is just a short walk away.
The room is spacious and the bed is really comfortable.
We also had breakfast which was pretty good.
The room was as expected like any other Ibis Hotel: simple, small, but practical - containing everything you need to just have a place to sleep. There was an option to rent bikes which was easy and uncomplicated - a great way to get around Dresden!
it’s a very beautiful hotel! it is located not too far from Frauenkirche, which is a beautiful cathedral located in the center of Dresden. we got the room with a small balcony which was a great plus when you can step out and see the square!
The staff were very friendly and the hotel is very close to Dresden Bahnhof Mitte, which is a useful hub for public transport. The walking distance to the old town centre is about 10 minutes. The breakfast buffet was not fancy, but fine.
The lication is fantastic, right in the center of old town. Walking distance from all sightseeing.
The hotel is great for a family or a couple staying.
The rooms are modern , the wifi is good and the breakfast is delicious.
The location of the hotel is perfect, just at the historic centre of Dresden. From there you can easily access old town, Elba river or shopping malls in Dresden. The staff was very friendly and eager to help with everything.
The hotel was exceptionally clean and the staff very attentive. The location was perfect for city centre sightseeing. The full fridge was a bonus and I probably got the best night sleep in the comfortable bed.
