Great place to stay in Madeira, convenient to explore all parts of island. Parking garage was a bonus during Oscar storm ;)

Machico is so much nicer to stay in than Funchal if you like the quieter more laid back vibe. The shops and restaurants are all good but particular praise must go to all the ladies in Pastelria O Gala who worked tirelessly to keep their customers happy at all times - the Pastel de Natas were simply gorgeous and at EUR1.00 each were superb value. Try O Secreta for a really nice evening meal and don't forget to try the bread in Paderia e Pastelaria Flor de Machico

The apartment was spacious and very comfortable. The location was great ... within walking distance to the beach and also to the village centre. It is also close to the airport.
The name of the apartment was not very clear. In the small print it has Edifico VIP Baie, but I was looking VIP Paradise Apartments.

A lovely town of just the right size, lively but still calm - it has a lot of good restaurants, various stores etc that make your stay comfier than one in a smaller town, without the crowds of a bigger city which can get overwhelming. Funchal is a short drive away, and it is also a great base for all the trips and hikes especially around the eastern part of the island.
And there is a sandy beach well protected from the waves, so almost everyday is a good day for a swim!

Great place for my vacation. Quiet town providing all you need - supermarkets, one sand and one rocky beach, starting point for hikes and runners trails. Public buses to east part of the island ad Funchal. Bus to the airport - 5min ride for 1,3 eur. Great!

If you are without a car and want to visit most of the tourist places on Madeira Island you should rather look for a apartment in the Funchal city. That's a town where most of the buses go and you are going to have more time for your trips. The Machico city is also great and beautiful but rather quiet and somewhat local.

Machico is a quiet little place with good restaurants and a relaxed vibe.
Supermarkets and all the normal sevices. Good if you prefer to be out of the hustle bustle of Funchal but only 15 minutes drive away. The East of Madeira has good gentle levada hikes and a super beachside restaurant in Porto da Cruz.
This is a great place to stay! I highly recommend staying here when going to Machico. The communication with the host is really easy and he is very quick to respond. The location is super nice, in the middle of a cute neighborhood. It's close to the beach (a few minutes walk) supermarkets, bus station and cafes/restaurants. We really felt at home here and would have loved to stay longer if possible. The house had everything we needed (there is even an oven!) and is really clean.
- Communal kitchen and patio area are great to get the community feel of a hostel without the cons
- The room was spacious and very comfortable, excellent water pressure in the bathroom which is always a plus
- Amazing host who gave us lots of recommendations for our stay in Madeira
- Great location close to the beach and restaurants. Machico is a good base to explore the island
Amazing value for a comfortable, clean, friendly hotel. Very good breakfast buffet with fried eggs, bacon, cold meats, cheeses, yogurt, fresh fruit, juices, rolls and bread. Terrific location a block from the beach, and the town of Machico itself was a very pleasant surprise: scenic, lots of great eateries, pristine clean, and a wonderful beach.
In the center of Machico, very nice place to stay.
We parked the car at the gas station near by, just a short walk (uphill) but well, you‘re in Madeira.
The kitchen had all the stuff you need and more (boxes to store and take food with you on a trip, our coffee got filled up…).
Really nice and uncomplicated stay - we enjoyed it very much!
Very central location, just a few minutes walk to bus station, two big supermarkets, the (small) beach. Well equipped kitchen including a washing machine. There is a fruit basket and a small bottle of wine supplied on arrival. The key is left in a safe box outside the front door. Machico is a good base for exploring the east of Madeira.
Carla met us at the property earlier than we agreed. Welcomed us with Madeira cake and wine, juice for children.
20 min walk to the sandy beach, but durable. There are a few nice local restaurant in a walking distance.
Spacious and comfortable apartment.
She also gave Easter chocolate for my children when we parted.
Lovely apartment within walking distance to the beachfront of Machico and the shops and restaurants around the main square. The property offers all you need to comfortably stay for a couple of days. I stayed in the run up to the Trans Madeira mountain bike race and it was perfect for what I needed.
We love coming back to this apartment - everything is easily accessible, the communication is always great and the stay in Madeira is always great because of it! The owner cares about the comfort of his guests and the quality of accommodation is constantly improving. I definitely recommend it! :-)
Property is located in a great location, close to grocery stores, restaurants and the Machico beach and easy access off the highway. Our stay was perfect and Dina was a great host, answering our questions about various activities around town.
The view from the room was excellent, you can see the waves in here them and leave the windows open and just keep cool that way. Staff is friendly and helpful, and they let me park my motorcycle outside in the vestibule of the hotel.
Incredibly friendly hosts, very clean and comfy - out of 4 places where we stayed in madeira, this one felt the most comfortable (and not the most expensive!) , i traveled with my mom and she shares my opinion:) thank you!
In the terms of accommodation, I do not believe that you can get anyting better out there on Madeira island.
Staff is friendly, helpful, I mean, probably the best I ever experienced.
It was rewarding stay.
Outstanding views across Machico to the sea with the casa set in a Madeiran garden full of exotic plants. Rooms are modern and clean. Value for the rental price is excellent.
Hotel with a beautiful view of the bay. Comfortable rooms, cleaned every day. Breakfasts were very good, lots of choice. 10 min walk to the center of Machico.
Comfortable hotel
Very friendly and responsive hosts and staff
Very good location in very pleasant and picturesque town
Conveniently close to the airport
Clean and nicely appointed room. The location was perfect. Restaurants, the beach, grocery stores, and the bus line are all right there. Machico is awesome.
