Tunis is a great place to experience Arab culture tempered by French finesse. It is easy to get around the city on foot, tram or taxi. Lots to see and do. It is also not far from other amenities and historic sites.

The medina is an interesting way of spending a couple of hours with a nice cafe above where you can look over Tunis. Taxis are the best way to travel around and there are plenty. Lots of places to eat. I think as a tourist in Tunis you just need to beware of
being ripped off by being over charged at almost every point. Other than that it’s a very interesting place to visit and actually very cheap!!

Tunis can be a gem for a visit in itself and a great starting point for day-trips to other destinations within easy reach. Some caution should always be in order when walking around the city, trying not to stand out like the tourist who has just arrived that very morning and taking care not to show any valuables.
Taxis are great to move around, as they are incredibly cheap, and the drivers are usually honest and helpful.
Do not hesitate to try the food of even some less than glamorous establishments, as you will often find excellent dishes there at a very low cost and with very hospitable hosts.

Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to...
Tunis is a vibrant city with a rich history dating back to the 2nd millennium BCE. The city has been controlled by Phoenicians, Romans, Arab Muslims, the Ottomans, the Spanish, the French, and the Germans, finally achieving independence as the capital of Tunisia in 19561. The medina is a network of narrow alleyways, mosques, mausoleums, palaces, and a souq where shoppers haggle over the price of everything from filigreed gold to inexpensive souvenirs1. If you’re looking for places to stay, eat, or things to do in Tunis, you can check out the reviews on Tripadvisor.
I hope this helps!

I love Tunis but not the taxi drivers!
I love Tunis but not the taxi drivers! They charge more on top of the meter. There's so much to discover in Tunis and it's the perfect marriage between the old and the new. I also like how open-minded and disciplined the people are except for that lady in the bar who suddenly went nosy while I was taking video of the dance floor - whoever you are feeling privilege, first, it's not a private bar, second there's no restriction about taking photos and/or videos - none that we are aware of. So if you feel ashamed dancing your heart out with a guy then go to other place than trying to make a scene and confronting me for just doing my thing. In the first place, I'm not even interested to film you nor your group so mind your own business or even better - BUY YOUR OWN CLUB! This happened in Ouhlala on 15th of October 2023.
Mr. Mohamed (hotel manager) and his team are wonderful people. They are really great, professional and do more than what is requested from them. I was heavily sick during my stay and the hotel team was like my family; they extremely took care of me and they got me doctor and medicines. The only hotel that I will stay in whenever ever I visit Tunisia is this hotel. Words are not enough to thank this team and hotel... you were so good with me...I really appreciate it and sincerely thank you from my heart. I wish you success and healthy life
The hotel is beautiful inside, with a very cute ye olde lift. Every wall and ceiling you could spend ages looking at. The hotel sits at the bottom of the main Avenue France on one side, and on the other the start of the busy Medina for the market. So most of what you want is nearby. The staff were good and mostly helpful. English is not a forte of most people in Tunisia. The room (a triple) was of good size, and the tiled bathroom just amazing. The breakfast as others have noted, wasn't the best, but there was easily enough to fill up on.
Locarno is fabulous for the Medina & exploring Tunis Our host Khalid was beyond wonderful He advised us where to visit what to see where to eat and was so helpful Youdsef the taxi driver from airport and then later further on our trip was so kind helpful & caring a total delight! They made our trip exceptional! The hotel is amazing just fabulous in style, history and comfort best sleep ever on a historic palace Breakfast is generous l, loved the eggs Everyone is do fried just enjoy And thank you
This place provides everything you need to feel welcome in Tunis. You can expect features typically found in a home-style boutique hotel rather than luxury hotels. It is clean, comfortable, and charming. The staff are not only warm and welcoming, but they also genuinely care about you. When I returned to the hotel late at night, they even sent someone to accompany me from the taxi to the hotel. I truly appreciated their thoughtfulness.
Location is in the old Tunis city. It is an unusual location as you can never imagine that there would be a luxurious hotel located in the inner city streets. The hotel is of an unusual design as it is a converted building which used to be a large family home followed by a school. The refurbishment that happened around 5 years ago is however of a very high standrad.
Friendly staff. Large clean room with tea, coffee, kettle and fridge. A comfortable bed. Good breakfast with plenty of choices. The meals from the restaurant were good. There is a nice busy bar a few minutes walk away. The hotel is good for business travellers, it's close to many bank offices. Tunis centre is about 25 minutes walk.
The lady at the reception was so nice. She helped us with a lot of things, always smiling. The room was comfortable, no noise from other rooms. Cleaner than most hotels in Tunisia. Coffee, tea and water present. The bar is pleasant and calm. They have some food options too, which is great when you arrive late at night.
Good location to Madina (walking distance) where we found an excellent traditional cafe called Weld Aled which helped us choose local delicious reasonably priced tradional Tunisian food - Lablabli & Kafteji , Hotel friendly staff, secure underground parking, good internet and small but reasonably priced breakfast.
Best value for money!! Staff is the best!!! Thanks everybody for your help 😊 if we visit again Tunisia will be there for this hospitality!! In addition, the hotel is in the Centre of city. We never use taxi or public transportation. The room is so clean. Everything is perfect!
Great welcoming staff, Marwa and Zaher, very friendly. I would recommend also their spa. It is very relaxing. The restaurant staff is very friendly also.
I would come again to Tunisia and for sure I will do my booking at ADAM suites hotel. Thank you so much
Budget hotel for budget traveller. OK Breakfast. Staff nice and spoke French at reception. Less than 5 minute walk to medina. Lots of nearby cafes and diners in an authentic living and breathing part of Tunis.
A good option for a backpacker traveller
was great time and I am enormously impressed by the warm welcome you gave us. specially Fakhry was nice guy and Khairy the guy who took us from the airport to the hotel he was polite and respectful.
Thank guys with all my best wishes

Wonderful hotel; very comfortable, clean and spacious suite with kitchenette; close to Tunis Airport and a supermarket is nearby; delicious breakfast every morning; very friendly and helpful staff (especially our driver, Mr. Taoufik).
The cleanliness of the hotel was exceptional, was worried about the location as never been to Tunis and wasn’t sure what to expect. Was taken aback with all of tunis but was surprisingly happy with how central the hotel was.
I was on a two nights layover in Tunis coming from Europe. The hotel located in a very good area, near restaurants, cafes and Tunisia mall. The staff were very friendly and extremely helpful especially Trariq and Kholoud.
The entire staff is very kind. Dinner was perfect. Exceptional room service. An incredibly beautiful view of the city of Tunis...If your trip includes Tunis, don't hesitate to stop at the Sheraton. You won't regret.
This is a fantastic hotel in a brilliant location, bang in the centre of old Tunis near a bustling medina. The staff are extremely friendly and helpful. The rooms are superb, breakfast fantastic.
Everything, from the hygiene to the staff to the food to the facilities available, everything was great, the hotel is near the city center AND the airport.
