We drove out to the Castle which was awesome - well worth seeing along with the beautiful gardens.
We also walked around the beautiful, quaint old city and strolled along the canal stopping for dinner on the canal and then for drinks at another venue. It stayed light out until after 10 pm so we were able to enjoy the city after the rain stopped in late afternoon.
We drove here and were advised by Hotel Beijers that parking could be a problem and suggested the ParkBee website to reserve a spot for the length of our stay. It worked out perfectly for us - no issues.
Overall I would have to say Utrecht is a hidden gem that I would highly recommend to travelers!

The canals, trees coming into bud, friendly City folk, good coffee and excellent transport links. The historic buildings and peaceful walk along the canal which loops around the City were very relaxing. We enjoyed the City Museum and the cafe in the Dom (Cathedral) is a tranquil place to be. If you are looking for a civilised and smaller version of Amsterdam you will enjoy a long weekend in Utrecht.

A vibrant yet chilled out place to visit.
A vibrant yet chilled out place to visit. Loved all the cafe and bars and small streets where you can meander and wander in and out of lovely shops. Some of our party went to the top of the bell tower, quite hard going but amazing views. We also visited the Roman ruins under the tower, very interesting and good fun. Also spent a leisurely hour and a half on a a canal river trip, highly recommended! Went to several restaurants, great, reasonably priced food and far too much good wine and beer. Would visit again in a heartbeat!

Really lovely place, have been here several times and love it more each visit. There's lots to see and places to eat and watch the world go by. As it has a University there are lots of students around which adds to its vibrancy. It's a strange mix of busy and quiet in parallel. Watch out for the bikes as you're in the Netherlands, this took a little getting used to but it does mean there are not so many cars which is lovely. Absolutely recommend a visit!
The location was perfect most especially when you’re traveling via the train. It is placed near the city center which makes walking a very convenient choice of exploring the quaint city of Utrecht.
The size of the room another plus factor you can conveniently work your way around and even if you have a companion the space is still enough. I love how responsive the staff were to my queries.
If you’re a HH member you still qualify for the perks but not the reward points since the booking is made from Booking.com.
This is your standard, nice, new, quiet, IHG chain business traveler hotel, and the room is exactly what you'd expect from such a scenario. Two minute walk to either Utrecht Centraal or the city center with the canal. Location cannot be beat.
Obviously not much in the way of local charm, but that should be obvious from the location and photos. I was extremely pleased with my stay here, and got a great night sleep before my onward travel.
Pretty good location, 15-20 minutes walk from the city center of Utrecht. We don't mind walking as it gave us the opportunity to explore. The nearest bus stop and supermarket (Jumbo and Albert Hein) is about 5 minutes walk from the hotel. We were given a beautiful room with a canal view enclosed by trees! Room was clean, comfy bed, separate tub and shower, and kettle. I mean it has all the amenities. The hotel also have a pool and gym.
Very good location, we arrived by Flixbus and the stop is just outside of the hotel, and with the train station opposite it is very good connected with all places. There’s a big shopping area next to the station and center of Utrecht is also very close to walk to. The rooms were big and nice, and the hotel was clean. Value for money is better for this type of place vs staying in Amsterdam, but depends on the dates you choose as well.
Location is perfect, right behind Utrecht Dom in the city center - everything is within 5mins reach. The hotel is in a beautiful building dating back to 1600s, decorated with good taste. The (double) room we had was very comfortable, quiet and clean, in traditional yet modern style and offering all amenities (coffee and tea, mini bar, hair dryer, iron and ironing board). Staff was very friendly and polite.
The hotel was very nice, the people working there were amazing. Not perfect for a long stay, as there's no kitchen box in the (small & medium) rooms, but we loved our week there nonetheless. The building is unique, so make sure to let them know if you don't do well with stairs, so they give you an easily accessible room.
We'll definitely visit again if we need a place to stay in Utrecht!
I was offered an upgrade from the single room I'd booked. The room was spacious and comfortable if a little dated. The staff at the front desk were extremely helpful. When I made a complaint about noise in the room below me, they responded promptly and told me I could contact them at any time. The hotel is well located, just a few minutes from both the train station and the city centre.
Crew is very friendly and accommodating. The hotel still has "new car smell" as it's only been open a few months.
The vibe is simultaneously hip and chill, and the decor is fresh and modern.
Rooms are comfortable and designed for space efficiency.
The location is literally steps away from the Vaartsche train station and an easy 24-ish minute walk to the city center.
A short walk through the city from the centraal station to the hotel. Warm welcome on arrival and beautiful room. High ceilings with huge windows. Lots of space, clean and felt rather bougie.
Quiet even though we were in the hustle and bustle. The facilities were spotless and the bed was very comfy.
Will definitely return when we come back to Utrecht.
I liked this hotel, it's located in a very lively nice area of Utrecht, about 15-20 minutes away from the city center.
Like other people wrote, the furniture was a bit outdated, but my room was really clean and the bed comfy, so that didn't bother me that much.
The fixed shower head was a bit annoying, but then again, you cannot have it all :-))
Location is good as it is near the Utrecht Centraal Station. The tunnel leading to the hotel is not obvious but it is only a short distance away. The exterior of the hotel looks old but the rooms are newly furnished and space is big and comfortable compared to other hotels nearby.
The Bunk hotel is super close to the city centre and train station. The Pod accomodation was clean and comfy, the shower facilities were excellent, the staff was friendly and helpful, and the breakfast was superb! Will definitely sleep here again when I’m in Utrecht.
Superb location. From the rear of the hotel you are in the centre of Utrecht, from the front a 10-min walk to train station. The staff were very friendly and offered excellent service. The buffet breakfast was amazing. A truly 5 star hotel but with high prices.
Perfect location in the city centre of Utrecht. Loved the building which is old and authentic. The breakfast was great. There are a lot of bars and restaurants in the area. I would highly recommend this place.
