Everything was perfect except there was never any staff in the bar in the evenings. There was one member of staff who came in and made us 2 cappuccinos and made out the oat milk wouldn't froth up ... poor excuse for two awful cups of coffee.
On a separate occasion we asked for two cocktails and the same member of staff very abruptly told us he can't make cocktails, instead of suggesting the lounge which we weren't aware of at the time, so we left.
On our last evening we asked if we could have a bar meal and sit outside, but was told by reception If we wanted to eat outside we would have to take the food outside ourselves. So we ate elsewhere.
On the whole we really enjoyed our stay but I hope you take these comments on board so that you can improve your customer service to your guests who pay large amounts of money to stay at your hotel.

Grasmere is full of lovely walks, you don't have to wander far to be in a super stunning surrounding. The walk around the lake is a pretty easy one to follow mainly flat and has a direct path so hard to get lost, but theres definitely opportunities to wander further a field, up into the hills, or over to the caves also from here. The lake is also a great place to paddle board or boat around, it's large enough and not too busy.
We absolutely loved Mathilde's Café at the Heaton Cooper Studio, the food was just delicious and such a pretty shop, great little seating spot outside providing blankets for al fresco dining. Sam Read Bookshop was also worth a look, there are a number of really lovely shops aside from all the main tourist hot spots in Grasmere. We also enjoyed a drink at Tweedies bar which had a lovely atmosphere and be a great place in the summer as it had a lovely beer garden setting to sit outside.

It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated.
It was beautifully situated ans very tastefully decorated. The only downside is there wasn't a shower in our room and I have mobility issues. Also no full length mirror. The bathrooms are rather small, we burnt ourselves on the radiator a few times using the toilet. Obviously that wouldn't be a problem in Summer. I would stay there again but would want a room with a shower which would also give more room to move around.
The food was really good we ate there each night. Bit confused with breakfast. One day we got two slices of bacon the next day one and the poached eggs we're hit and miss, but there was plenty buffet which was excellent.
All in all a lovely place to stay with lovely staff, places to visit all around and breathtaking views.

Wished we had tried somewhere else ...busy not always the best option!
Had a fantastic two night stay here, everything was so lovely, we felt welcomed and it was a really relaxing environment to act as a base to explore Grasmere. Very comfortable room,.completed to a really high standard. We were even given an upgrade to our room!
The breakfast was extensive to a very high standard or organic products, we mentioned we were vegan and the gentleman very kindly cooked extra vegan options for us. The homemade bread was a lovely touch
We’ve been coming to this hotel for a few years now. Only place we’ll stay in Grasmere. The pool and sauna is a key feature. The last time we came, there was a tiny gym facing the sauna. Now it’s a chill zone with loungers. Glad it’s been turned into that, rather than the gym. The bar on site is also a lovely aspect along with a residents lounge to escape the bar if it’s too busy. The beds are very comfortable too. Great place to escape and switch off.
A little gem of a hotel, right in the heart of Grasmere. A lovely welcome from fantastic staff and a very comfortable room. The breakfast was excellent and an unexpected bonus was the complimentary afternoon tea served each day, with beautiful home-made cakes and scones. There are a number of great walks straight from the hotel door and a pub serving excellent meals and a great choice of local beers is just across the road - what more do you need?!!
It’s well located just outside Grasmere, from the moment we arrived the staff were friendly, helpful and charming. Our room was excellent and spotless and our evening meals were also superb as was breakfast. It’s also very attractive inside now, it’s obviously had a face lift since our last visit and much improved but the staff stand out especially for praise. Thank you.
We found the reception staff were very help full and the room was lovely we had a balcony room which was not expected my wife was made up with the room. It had a bath has well has a shower which was nice after coming back from a long walk to have a soak ion the bath with radox. we have stayed here before and the hotel and staff have never failed to let us down in anyway.
Lovely hotel in an excellent location just 5 min walk to centre of Grasmere. Used public transport bus stop 2 mins away. Rooms were spotlessly clean & bed extremely comfortable. Good choice at breakfast. Staff very friendly & helpful. Will definitely stay again when visiting Grasmere.
The location is central in the village of Grasmere and is ideal for walking from the hotel whether it be up into the fells or in and around Grasmere itself. The hotel is surrounded by beautiful peaceful scenery including the well maintained hotel garden in which to relax.
Beautiful hotel in a central location within Grasmere. Breakfast was very tasty and served quickly. We had a room with a view of the long drive leading up to the hotel. The grounds were lovely. Staff were very friendly. Loved the toiletries in the bathroom!
The hotel is located in the most beautiful area of the lake district, with easy access to walks and towns. Grasmere is a quick walk from the hotel with great shops, cafes and restaurants. It is a great place to visit!

Everything about this hotel was magnificent! The breakfasts were outstanding. The dinner was what we would expect from a 5-star restaurant in NYC. The staff were extremely friendly and professional.
