The carvery was huge, unexpected bonus on a Tuesday night! The area was very quiet. The hotel was very accommodating of our bikes finding a secure place to lock them away overnight.

The accommodation was charming. We hadn’t expected breakfast & we were delighted it was included. It was a lovely breakfast.

As the name says.. definitely a queen of B&B. The best property we have stayed in so far. A homey feeling with a touch of 5 star hotel room. The room was spotless and immaculate. A walking dressing and a big toilet. The property has a dining hall which can be used for takeaways. It was only 15mins walk from the high street with many options of nice dine in restaurants and take aways. Would definitely be returning and recommend to our friends and family.
Situated in the heart of the South Wales valleys, Station House offers self-catering accommodation. In the picturesque village of Troedyrhiw, it is just 10 minutes’ drive from BikePark Wales.

Definitely need a car to get around this area. Not quite the luxury I was looking for. Accomodation and breakfast where I stayed was fairly basic. Quite limited in eating out options too.
Managed to walk the Pen y Fan which was the highlight of my stay here.

Nice town with some lovely places to go for a drink and a bite to eat. Friendly bar with live music at the weekend. Also there is a Wetherspoon. The Zip World was only a 30 min drive away and is fantastic. Great scenery and walks near by.

Only stayed 2 days and then was at an event so not enough time to explore. However on an evening plenty of places to eat and drink. Tesco Extra and range of other shops incl. Saturday street market. Train and bus transport hub, and plenty of places to explore a short distance away.

Liked the fact it has good public transport links to the Brecon Beacons the town itself looks a bit run down in places like many these days but had everything we needed with lots of things to do nearby. We enjoyed climbing Corn Du, Pen Y Fan, visiting Lyn Cwm Llwch, walking along parts of the Taff Trail, visiting The Brecon Mountain Railway, Cyfarthfa Castle and park as well as things further a field.

Centre -lovely trails and views.
Also the Brecon Beacons were within easy reach.
We ate at Nant Ddu the first night and shared 3 tasty side dishes between us.
Not too far from 3 near locations where my Dad was born and lived in Penwhriceiber, Cefn Pennar and Mountain Ash. Able to visit as near.
Lovely little base for exploring The Brecon Beacons. Lots of space and good value for money!
Loved the little terrace, great for the dog to chill out in after a long day out hiking. Little bits provided for the dog were amazing and very helpful as we ran out of poo bags! She also was very happy with her own bed that was set up :)
Very quirky decor & right up our street, had everything we needed for a short stay, the kitchenette was very useful, great to have milk on our arrival and the Welsh cakes were divine thank you :)
The property was great and we really enjoyed our stay. The pictures don't do it justice - it is a magnificently large space with everything we needed including parking, a washing machine and tumble dryer, bike storage, a large lounge that was good for socialising, and really close to town and Bike Park Wales. The host was lovely and met us with the keys at a time that suited us as we were riding that day. When we arrived, there were Welsh cakes, bread, butter, and milk... Thank you so much!
Very homely cosy apartment, nicely situated next to the river and close to shops. Neil is fantastic, and really helpful. We stayed at Station House as we were visiting family in Merthyr Tydfil for Christmas. As well as off street parking, you also have access to a garage, so I imagine this would be a really great property if your visiting Bike Park Wales and it’s also very close to the Taff Trail. Great stay and will definitely return next time we are visiting family.
Excellent hosts sharing plenty of tips for hikes in this area and also other parts of Wales (Gower and St Davids). They also suggested the Big Pit National Coal museum, which I found a must-do to understand the industrial history of the area.
Excellent breakfast, lots of choice.
Comfortable bed and room. Very clean.
Also had a UK adapter in the room for charging devices (in case you'd forgotten it or wanted to charge multiple).
Parking on the premises.
Location in South Wales is good; there are main roads nearby that link you to bigger towns and the mountains. There are ample fuel stations and big shops/supermarkets nearby. The room was clean and had supplies of towels etc. Communication from the owners was good (although the 'suggestions' emails could have been cut down a little - one would have been OK). The property had free parking available in a large car park behind the property. Shower was fine.
The area was quiet and free parking at the back of the hotel..the room was basic but well equipped for my needs. The shower was tall enough for me(I'm 6ft5) and water pressure was great..The TV was great and the single bed was very comfortable..the breakfast was fabulous and the staff very attentive but not obtrusive. This is my second time at Antelope Hotel and I will be back..
Lovely pool & Spa area although the jacuzzi could do with some TLC. I enjoyed a fantastic massage in the treatmentrooms. All of the staff were lovely, bubbly and willing to help once you had their attention. The location was fantastic for access to the national park and hotel is in a lovely setting but quite remote so any alternative options for eating/drinking require a drive.
We couldn't asked for a better place to stay, warming studio with very comfy bed and the view from our windows were amazing.
There's plenty of shops/pubs within 10min walk from James place.
We forgot to thank you for the lovely Wales cakes James. We certainly coming back!!!
It was perfect!
Highly recommended.
Thank you so much James& family.
This is a fantastic property to stay in. We loved the quirkiness, the games room was fantastic, the outdoor area was lovely, the beds were super comfy and the quality of the linen and towels equal to a hotel stay, plus dogs are welcome. Finally the home grown honey from the owners bees was a beautiful touch. We will definitely return.
The room was very spacious, had a lovely ensuite too! There was a slight issue but the owners were super helpful so can't critisze them for that! There was onsite parking and it was a short drive to lots of great walks/activities. Breakfast was gorgeous! And the bed was something of a dream :)
The property is located within easy reach of many areas of interest in the Brecons - typically a 30 minute drive. There is an excellent Chinese take-away within 5 minutes walk from the property. The owner/manager did respond quickly to help when we needed to switch on the central heating.
The house was big and spacious for us and very clean. The location was also good because its near the place we wanted to visit and it's walking distance to the shops and takeaway..The host was also very helpful.I will recommend this place to anyone who wants to visit South of wales
Place was presented nicely and it was very clean. Lovely Vue from the kitchen. Location was good with sports bar and a spar across the road and no more than a 15 minute drive to Pen Y Fan. Messaging the owners was easy they replied quickly and where helpful. Great value for money.
We enjoyed our one night stay with Howfield Hotel. The directions to access property was clear. The location was perfect. The room itself was very clean. I slept comfortably and there was no noise. The car park is only a few minutes from the hotel and all day fee was £3.50.
Amazing breakfast and lovely friendly and helpful staff. Real family feel to the place and good location to explore the area around. Massive cottage with big kitchen and tea/coffee provided which was lovely.
Really great place, clean and well stocked for everything needed. Inside bike store for secure storage and really close to bike park wales. Spacious rooms and nice outside area to relax in.
