We had a 'Bay View' room, but the window looking over the Bay was 'sprung', so there was just condensation and we couldn't see anything. Frankly this was very disappointing as we had paid for a Bay View room but didn't get a proper view. I wish I had pointed this out when we checked out as I feel we should have had some money back as a result. Also, there were no proper lights in the room, so we couldn't read in bed. Also, why do English hotels insist on double quilts? These are unheard of on the continent - people have their own quilts - for goodness sake Harbour View catch up with the times!

The property I booked was outside the town of St Ives in a place called Consol. However, was advertised as being in St Ives. There was builders rubble in the parking space. I was told that my 'private entrace' was through the french windows of the property and I would not, as a single traveller, have felt secure in such a situation. I did not stay at this property and would be pleased to receive a refund please.

What a picturesque town with outstanding natural beauty and so much to see in the way of art and ceramics. It does get very crowded during holiday times so I would recommend going out of season. Highlights include the Tate St Ives, the Barbara Hepworth Studio, the various galleries and the beaches. The walking could be difficult for anyone with limited mobility but there are ways around that in terms of getting transport. A really stunning spot. Plenty of excellent places to eat from beach cafes to independent bakeries and coffee shops to fish restaurants. It seemed that everywhere was very dog friendly too and many visitors were there with their dogs.

I’ve been coming to St Ives for 50 years so I’m slightly biased but it is a beautiful place with 5 beaches. Numerous good places to eat. Lovely little shops with different crafty bits in. Mostly flat when you are in the town area. Good location for exploring more of Cornwall if needed but plenty to see and do in St Ives.
The place is not a hotel as it is mentioned. It is more of a Bed and Breakfast place.
The landlord is really super friendly and accommodated us very well.
She is very helpful to understand our needs for the breakfast.
The breakfast is very good and homemade.
She is able to accommodate us even when we checked-in late in the night.
The location of the house is another plus, if you are ok with visiting the nearby shops by walking.
Clean, warm and furnished well. Had all the facilities and space needed for a family getaway. Lovely outdoor space for the children to play in. Walked into St Ives (and back!) along the coast - the children loved it. Plenty to do and explore. Plenty of parking (albeit slightly away from the property but this didn’t bother us). Taxis back were fairly cheap (after a family wedding). The children can’t wait to return.
It’s in a stunning location Carbis Bay not far from St Ives, walk to the end of the street & their are buses that take you into St Ives in 5 mins. The room was small but the bed very comfortable & spacious bathroom. The breakfast was delicious & plenty of choice. The host’s are very friendly & suggested lots of attractions to visit in the area. I recommend this B & B when visiting Cornwall.
This was not as described advertised. You show up at the Carbis Bay Hotel but actually end up being driven to a shed at the back of someone's garden about 2 miles away. It is completely disingenuous the way it has been Marketed. Despite Complaining to the duty manger no refund or suitable explanation given. Very disappointing experience & we would never go there again
We loved everything about Harbour View House. Every detail had been considered, the beds were super comfortable and the shower was really good. The hotel had an amazing view of the harbour, the whole place had been tastefully designed and the food and drink was a really high standard. The couple that run the place are so nice. Would 100 percent stay again.
Lovely staff. Those I met. Whether at reception, or in the restaurant.
Location in St Ives & walking access.to the town & beaches.
Lots of space, so although it's a family hotel , I didn't feel like I was at Butlins.
Very quiet & relaxing at the hotel, lovely gardens. lovely views. Lovely walking in the grounds.
Lovely hote, l generally speaking.
Very friendly and attentive staff who were very accommodating of our dietary restrictions during breakfast. The location is super central and easily accessible to the main beaches, shops, etc. Our room was practically a mini studio flat, equipped with a kitchenette and very spacious (with sea views to boot!)
Fabulous views, lovely facilities, extremely clean, location to the beach and Carbis Bay train station, which took 3 mins to get to St Ives. Beds felt lovely and comfy with hotel grade clean fresh bed linen. Host was very helpful and friendly, Paul went above and beyond to ensure we had a fantastic holiday.
A beautiful location with gorgeous views from the hotel overlooking Carbis bay beach. A short and easy walk from the train to st. Ives, with a beautiful coastal walk to st. Ives aswell! Very friendly and welcoming family who run the hotel, serve, food and hotel was the perfect break away!
The hotel is in a great location 10 mins walk into town, and less than 10 mins walk to Porthmeor beach.
The room is spacious and had free parking
There was a communical kitchen and outdoor sitting area which is really nice.
Gorgeous room with a view and sound of the sea. Shutters rather than curtains so could open slightly to get the benefit of sunrise. Lovely spa treatment.
Staff at every function in this hotel were amazing
The family that ran the hotel were extremely accommodating and the property and room were stunning. Far exceeded our expectations. Would highly recommend.
