The photos and descriptions don’t do this place justice. Located in a quiet valley half an hour’s walk (or a short drive) from Ollantaytambo the Las Qolqas Eco Resort by far exceeded our expectations. The friendly and helpful staff helped us with all our questions and requests, alongside the manager and the owner of the hotel. They also recommended a Machu Picchu guide for us (Porfirio - charming and very knowledgeable) and helped us with transportation to and from the train station to get to Machu Picchu (included in our room rate). The food on site is excellent, as are the drinks. There are fireplaces in each cabin which they’ll light for you at your request. You can admire hummingbirds from the comfy chairs on your veranda while you can hear the birds chirp and the sounds of the nearby river. We also did a lovely 2hr hike (each way) on an Inka Trail to the nearby Pumamarca Ruins which was amazing and we didn’t see any other tourists the whole way - a great way you get away from the masses. Las Qolqas was easily our favourite place we stayed at in Peru.

Tambo del Inka, a luxury establishment located in the Sacred Valley of the Incas, is the only hotel in Urubamba that has a private train station with connections to Machu Picchu. This was our second time to go to this hotel. I like so much the rooms, the huge common spaces and the wellness. The coffee machine in the room is a real extra. We traveld to Machu Picchu with the train (from the hotel’s train station) - it’s very comfy.

Het Aranwa Sacred Valley Hotel & Wellness is gevestigd in een prachtige 17e-eeuwse hacienda, op de weg naar Machu Pichu. Such a beautiful property. We had a wonderful stay. The hotel is lovely - serene and calm and the perfect place to stay for Sacred Valley. The gardens are very peaceful and quiet Our room was great - large and really well appointed and very relaxing. The breakfast was fantastic - lots of choice and the Spa was fantastic. The gym is also excellent. The team were all very good but a special mention to Andres, Luis, Wally and Diana who took great care of us and delivered exceptional personalised service. I had a treatment at the Spa with Yesica who was also fantastic .

It's a great place for anyone that wants some comfort during their stay in the sacred valley. The hotel arranged a driver for me, for a great price, to drive around to all the amazing Inca ruins in the sacred valley. The location is good and just a few minutes down the road you can explore Urubamba with its great cafés and market.

The owners were very welcoming and provided a good breakfast. Also they provided us with great information where to go around Ollantaytambo.
