Fantastic situation, it is at only 8 minutes walk from the village Mindo on a flat road.... In Mindo we could rent electric bikes and electric quads to get around.... The suites are surrounded of nature ans we were delighted of the colibris, toucans and colorful butterflies flying around us... the pool and the jacuzzi are very clean and pleasant.... the breakfast was very nice as well

Lovely little hotel right in the center of Mundo. The main living and dining area is open to the incredible garden in the back with feeders for birds and hummingbird feeders and you can hear the the fast flowing River. Our hostess Margarita was wonderful as were all her staff. The breakfasts were excellent with lots of choices and we ate all three dinners there. Our room was large. The beds were great as was the bathroom with lots of hot water. With Margarita's help e were able to do a fabulous bird watching tour as well as go on our own via taxi to the butterfly center and a place to watch hummingbirds and have them feed right out of your hand. It rains a lot in Mindo at least at the end of November, so be prepared with waterproof jackets and warm clothing. We were able to borrow umbrellas and a hair dryer which really helped. Margarita also arranged for an excellent driver to take us back to Quito.

I echo all these superb reviews on here about the host, German. He was truly exceptional and such a gentleman. He was friendly, attentive, informative and available to help. He kept me informed when he was going to be unavailable and spent time explaining things to me with my limited Spanish skills. I spent some time trying to spot a toucan and German spotted one within five minutes of asking him. He even took a bug out of my room for me (Gracias, German!). Great location in the middle of the forest, surrounding by raw beauty and birds flying all around you. It is also within walking distance of the Tarabita cable car and next to the Tangeras reserve. A pair of binoculars and a telescope are also available along with filtered water, hot water and a range of herbal teas. Rooms were basic but comfortable, great value for money and small discount offered with extended stay, laundry service (washing machine and dryer) also available for a fair fee. I’m very grateful for this truly memorable stay!

The apartment was amazing with an incredible view overlooking the forest. The hotel was located very close to the main section of town - we chose to mostly walk, however taxis were available if needed. The food was very nice, both breakfast and dinner. Personnel was so helpful and kind. We got upgraded to the superior suite next to the river, I must say this was a magical place. You can open all the curtains and wake up between the trees. De view is spectacular, and important: river was kept clean. Breakfast was delicious and a lot :) I could have stayed here a week :)

We loved everything about our stay! There might be more luxurious accommodations in Mindo, but I wouldn’t dream of staying somewhere else if we return in the future. Everything was so clean, quiet, and beautiful. It felt like we had the place to ourselves! One huge plus is that you really don’t need a birding tour if you stay here, we saw so many beautiful tropical birds and even had a few coatis scurry in front of our cabin. Staff was always helpful and going above and beyond, and the breakfast truly is exceptional.

The location was quite convenient for early AM pick up by local guide for birdwatching. We stayed in a bungalow with views of the trees. Accommodations were simple but all we needed for a comfortable stay (2 nights). Food was delicious. Hiking trails and bird watching on the property.

The cabin is beautiful and very comfortable. The lodge is well-maintained, offering scenic views, peaceful sounds, and incredibly nice people. My partner and I stayed here for five days following a trekking holiday to relax and reconnect, and it was exactly what we needed. The staff was not only caring but also attentive, genuinely listening to our feedback and making small changes daily to enhance our experience. We had an amazing time.

The grounds are beautiful and well maintained for a jungle, forest environment. The accommodations exceeded our expectations. The construction of the cabana, the size of the rooms, the comfort of the beds and the appointments were first rate.

Sacha Urco Lodge is owned and run by Sol and her Biologist husband Juan. It is set in 150 hectares of beautiful primary forest with trails to walk within. We ate a delicious home cooked meal there on our first night and breakfast was equally good. We walked trails within the reserve and saw monkeys, toucans and lots of other lovely birds. Our accommodation was beautiful, made from locally sourced natural resources. The natural beauty of the lodge and surroundings, and the personal service by the owners makes it a wonderful place to stay.

We stayed three nights at Mindoxtrem Birds along New Years Eve. For two nights the room next to us was empty so it was very quiet. The accomodation was very clean and the terrace had a beautiful view, we could see a lot of birds. To walk to the centre it was just 10 minutes. For two people the room was big enough, for three people it would have been a bit small. The shower was great, hot water was available.

staff was very helpful to change accommodations after initial rooms and bathrooms that were so small as to be dysfunctional. Thank you to the staff for making the change and no extra cost. The second rooms were very comfortable with lovely bathrooms. I would have given a higher ratings if we had not been initially assigned to such small spaces they would’ve been impossible for us to use. Ruth was great, and the owner was also very accommodating.
