It’s hard to describe why you leave some places feeling happy and warm at heart, (and not really wanting to leave at all) but I’ll give it a go. The Osprey is a one of a kind hotel in the heart of Scotland. We booked it on a whim on our way back to Edinburgh after a week in the Highlands, it had the perfect location since we didn’t want to drive for too long, great reviews and a room available for three. Already at check-in you feel that it’s something out of the ordinairy. The owners Des and Sinead are warm and kind people with a great sense of humour, happy to help with restaurant suggestions or things to do in the area (or a birthday song, if you’re lucky!). The hotel itself is beautiful inside out, from the floral wallpaper and wooden floor to the picturesque stone facade partly covered in plants, nothing is left to chance. There’s no fuss or haste at The Osprey and we left feeling relaxed, well rested and wanting to come back! If the above isn’t convincing enough, in addition: The room was the nicest we had during our week in Scotland, super comfortable beds and bedding, a nice view over the park outside and very tasteful interior. The breakfast had a broad range of tasty and filling choices. The town of Kingussie itself was very charming and well worth a visit. I honestly can’t recommend this place enough.

Beautiful modern property set in an idyllic location , perfect layout and all facilities you could need for a weeks stay. Close to so many amazing locations to explore. So much wildlife around. There was a red squirrel that visited us every morning on the feeder a few metres from the entrance to the apartment. Abundant birdlife including a lot that were pretty rare, including crested tits.

The owners were very hospitable to us when we booked this accommodation at the very last-minute due to the fact that our car broke down nearby whilst we were on holiday. They were very helpful and welcoming! The guesthouse is absolutely gorgeous, everything was in mint condition and so comfortable! The homemade cookies went down very well with our children, and our breakfast the next morning was delicious!

Excellent accommodation in Kingussie which is quite close to the Cairngorms with beautiful nature around. The room was clean and modern and the area around was quiet with a few basic amenities covered (coop, a couple of cafes) I would recommend it for anyone wanting to stay in the area.

Comfortable, clean and warm accommodation. Self check in was smooth and communication prior to stay was very good! We had a great two night stay and slept very well, we wouldn't hesitate to book again. Very good value for money, thank you

Sue and her husband are great hosts. Wonderful breakfast and she made accommodations for my allergies. The room was clean and charming as was the breakfast room. Eating places are walkable and parking was on site.

The service was great, staff very friendly and helpful, nothing was too much trouble. The accommodation itself exceeded our expectations, clean, spacious and very homely. Would definitely stay again.
