Sugi is an extraordinary host. She made us feel very welcome and advised us very well on how to get to the places to visit. Plus on the last day we had to leave very early and she was there to say goodbye. The establishment is very quiet and tastefully decorated. We loved Sugi's little dog :-)

Exceptional site. The hotel, a hanok, is in a pieceful and beautiful environment. The staff is extremely helpful, the host is a very elegant person and passionnate about the hotel, the korean history. There is a welcome tea which is highly appreciated, and the opportunity to have a dinner according to old recipies ( mode than 500 years) that have been modernized by the chef chose family did write the cool book. This is a really special place to stay the night in the lovely Hahoe village. It's the most beautiful house in the village, and Mr. Ryu, whose family's home it has been for nine generations, is a charming host. We have stayed in lovely modernised hanoks around South Korea, and it was a great experience to stay in a traditional-style house as well. The dinner cooked by Mrs. Ryu was so delicious, some of the best food we've had in the country, and Mr. Ryu's tour of the house was fascinating and we were honoured that he would share his family's impressive history with us. It's wonderful to see how much he cares about his family home, and how well he preserves it for future generations (it must be hard work!). Note that the traditional futon mats on the floor may be a bit hard for some people's backs, and the bathroom is private but across the courtyard - but it's definitely worth it to experience a night in this wonderful house!

We stayed near the centre of Andong for one night and this was the perfect base to explore from, as it is only a few minutes walk from the main centre of the city. Andong is quite difficult to explore without a car but we found that the guest house was reasonably walkable to the main attraction of Andong folk village - around an hour on flat ground. Taxi from Hahoe village, where we started the previous night was around £20. We were met outside the guesthouse and were warmly greeted and introduced to the facilities such as wifi and refrigerated water. The room was in an ondol style and was very cosy with a wooden interior and a comfy bed. The bathroom was in wet room style with a shower above the sink, the ceilings are low in the bathroom but the water pressure was good and it did not feel cramped. Check in and check out were straightforward and accessing the property at any time was simple.

This is a really special place to stay the night in the lovely Hahoe village. A wonderful place set in beautiful natural surroundings. We really enjoyed staying at Okyeon Jeongsa with its relaxing atmosphere, waking up to birds calling in the surrounding forest. The history of the buildings and their owners gave an angle to understanding an important period in Korean history. The host was also very hospitable and serviceminded. The breakfast, apart from being tasty, was an experience in itself, served in the breakfast room with its low doors overlooking the river. Futons were comfortable and the bathrooms fine.

I had a really nice stay. The place is beautiful, comfortable and very comfy. The staff is amazing and the cats are so cute. I would go back there.

A convenient location to stay on a road trip between Seoul and Busan about 25mins out of Andong with reasonable pricing. Located in a small high rise satellite township where we could find everything we needed within a short walk from the hotel. Free onsite parking included

The location on the banks of the Nakdong River is wonderful, along with the sense that you have stepped into history. The accommodation is simple but comfortable, the hosts welcoming and extremely helpful, and the traditional Korean breakfast absolutely delicious. You wake to the calls of many different birds in the forest behind the pavilion, and go to sleep to the sound of frogs in the nearby rice fields and river reeds. We would have liked to stay longer to do nothing and unwind.

It was our privilege to be able to stay in this amazing, historical accommodation. It was very quiet and relaxing, and we slept great. Breakfast was delicious. Seunghwan, the owner, and his family went above and beyond to make our stay comfortable and they even gave us a few rides around the area, for what we are really grateful. We will always remember and cherish this experience, and hopefully come back in the future once again. 감사합니다

The accommodation was clean and the room was large. The bed was fine. The cafe was good with fine snacks and nice to relax in after a long day. There were lots of cute cats and baby cats, sad they didn't have any toys. The only downside I found, was that you had to be back before 11pm or you couldn't get in as there was no back door as an alternative. But otherwise a good place to stay for a few days.

the buildings were built in 1586 and Mr Ryu is the 16th generation of the family to have lived here. the accommodation was authentic but the most outstanding aspect of the stay was the home made breakfast (included in price). The view of the River and Hahoe Folk Village was beautiful (particularly in the morning).
