The Sunsetview is one of the best places I have ever stayed in - quiet, serene, and beautiful. It is located in front of the Elephant Breeding Centre in Bardiya, and is a walking distance from the river, where you can see the elephants bathing on their way back from the jungle to the breeding centre. The short trail from the property to Thakurdwara - the nearest town - is straight out of a Ruskin Bond story, with a sparkling creek and countless, towering trees to give you company. The property is hosted by Pramesh and Noémie, who are wonderful hosts - kind, caring, and always up for a conversation. The food cooked by Chef Amrit is delicious and homely. And thanks to Aneet, our stay in Sunsetview was seamless and extremely comfortable.

Where to starts... Hukum, his wife and their little boy are amazing! They are some of the most hospitable and genuine people that we have met during our trip. After 5 days with them, we were super sad to leave! They make you feel like you are part of the family. The food is delicious and they make sure to switch it up as well. Also, Hukum is super knowledgable and can explain a lot about the village and the jungle. He also helped us to book our bus ticket and tuktuk for our next destination which was appreciated.

Very comfortable wonderful lodge. It is an ‘institution’ in the safari sector of Nepal and deservedly so. The management (BC), staff and guides (Bhim in particular) are all incredible, nothing is too much trouble.

This small hotel is set about 10 mins walk from the main gate into Bardia National Park. The bungalows are set well back from the small road hence they are very quiet indeed. The bungalows are spaced out so you are not bothered by noise from anyone else. The bungalow was well constructed with a spacious bathroom and air conditioning if needed. The two single beds were very comfortable. The hotel has a small restaurant and bar set in the garden. There is a good choice on the menu and food arrives in good time . It is cooked exactly as you asked for. The staff were exceptionally friendly helpful and informative. They organised our pickup to and from the airport and organised two walking tours in the forest with their resident guide who was so helpful. They also cooked some great food to take into the park as a small picnic. We would definitely stay here again and would highly recommend it to others.

The family was so warm and welcoming! We had amazing food, everyone in the family cooks great food! The rooms were so tidy and clean, and they have hot water & the best part was when we went in the jungle we were so lucky to see a tiger. I really loved the outside space, you are surrounded by nature and a beautiful garden with lots of flowers and colors. I would really recommend that place if you are looking for a calm and quiet place, that is the place you need!

I stayed here for four days with my friend and we had a truly wonderful experience. Prakash joined us for a jungle safari and proved to be a highly experienced wildlife guide—we spotted many animals rhino ,tiger thanks to his knowledge. paharu make delicious meals every day using fresh ingredients from their organic garden. He kindly made extra vegetarian food to suit my diet and even prepared packed lunches for our jungle trekking. The bungalow was cozy, with a clean bathroom, hot shower, and free Wi-Fi. From the moment we arrived, we felt very welcome. Prakash and his brother baba also helped us arrange transportation, including an overnight bus back to Kathmandu. Communication was easy, and he genuinely cares about making his guests feel comfortable. In the evenings, he even organized a campfire for us. The area feels safe and there is plenty to see and explore nearby. We would definitely love to come back again.

Everything was just more than what we expected when we first came here. Nanu has treated us as we were part of his family. He was invested in everything : making us comfy, showing us animals during the safari, organizing transports etc… this place is a great value for your money + a real life time experience in a Wonderful family. Kali cooks the best Dal Bhat, Ayush & Arush are the 2 funny boys that will always make you laugh. We also have been lucky enough to celebrate Tihar festival with them in their family and that was an incredible experience.
