I stayed at this wonderful place as part of a family trip to Oman last month, and it easily was the highlight of the tour! The camp itself is gorgeously located on top of a dune; your views don’t get any better than that (and both sunset and sunrise are worth watching!). In terms of setup, it had everything you needed, from comfortable beds to clean bathrooms and a welcoming communal dining area. I’m also a vegetarian and found that the food was very accessible and easy to navigate. What made my stay here so special, though, was the team behind this camp. We spent two nights here so we got to know Said and his team a little better, and they’re all as welcoming, knowledgeable, helpful and funny as can be. I really recommend doing the 6-hour tour around the dunes, Said took us to see the dunes, an oasis farm, the local Bedouin family, and made us a beautiful lunch picnic under a tree patch as we watched the camels pass. You can really tell they love this project, so it’s no surprise that guests quickly feel the same way. I’d come back here in a heartbeat, and to anyone reading these reviews because they’re in between two camps: this is your sign to stay at Al Sarmadi - you won’t regret it.

Amazing hospitality from them, especially Fatima, Ali and Muhammad. Dinner and breakfast were delicious local delights. Place was clean and well kept. Excellent location, you really feel like you’re in the middle of the desert. There isn’t any TV nor WIFI but that’s a big plus for me who purely wants to spend time with my family, and also wind down from the hustle and bustle of everyday life.

Our tent was the cleanest place we’ve stayed in our entire Oman trip! The staff were really friendly and happy to help with anything. The communal area is super comfortable and the food is delicious - both breakfast and dinner! We stayed for two nights and the staff made sure we had some snacks for the hours in between breakfast and dinner too. Plus there is free tea and coffee, dates and little hazelnut chocolates which were yummy. It’s an authentic Bedouin experience well worth it.

Amazing experience at Safari Desert Camp. Everything went smoothly and well. Superb staff. The property is large, clean. Dinner and breakfast was exceptional. It is the desert but has all amenities. It is about 30-45 mins drive from Bidiyya town on the desert.

An amazing desert experience. There was one member of staff who slept overnight, who cooked a great dinner and breakfast for us in a Bedouin tent. The following day we had a Bedouin guide who took us further into the desert. He managed to find a variety of reptiles and mammals by following tracks and digging in the sand. We saw a lot more than we expected to and was very interesting to talk to somebody who actually lives in the desert.
