We stayed at Lola’s guesthouse for two nights, and it was by far the best place we stayed during our entire 4-week trip through the Balkans. Lola is an incredibly kind and welcoming host who speaks excellent English. From the moment we arrived, she made us feel at home, offering helpful advice about hiking routes in the area. The guesthouse itself is full of authentic charm. It’s a peaceful and naturally shaded place, which meant we had the best sleep of our trip — cool nights, fresh air, and complete silence. A true mountain escape. The food was hands down the best we had on our whole trip. Everything was homemade, and most of it came straight from Lola’s garden. We got real milk, fresh butter and cheese, and super tasty eggs. The portions were big too – we were always full and happy after every meal. Just proper, homemade food made with love. Lola even went above and beyond by helping us book accommodation in Dobërdoll, which was fully booked online. Thanks to her local connections, she managed to find us a place — something we couldn’t have done without her help. We couldn’t recommend Lola’s guesthouse more. If you’re looking for genuine hospitality, restful nights, unforgettable meals, and a perfect base for hiking adventures — this is the place!

The location is fantastic, the scenery is stunning, and the food is the best we have had in Albania.  The rooms are modern, spacious and clean, with comfy beds and powerful showers. The lovely staff were so kind and friendly, especially Mr Drin and Flori. They made planning our future travels easier and were full of wonderful recommendations. 100% stay here! It will for sure be the highlight of your Albania trip.  Also, you can experience the most insane stargazing here.

Starting from the hosts who were extremely kind, they made sure that we were content and confortable. They were very friendly and generous at anytime. The room was very clean, the view was spectacular, above all the breakfast was absolutely amazing. It had a variety of traditional Albanian food, everything was fresh. It is very cosy and better then what I expected. I felt like a king. Thanks a lot to the family, I will come here anytime when near Valbona ! Truly exceptionnal. It is a 10++++ !
