Situated within 37 km of Kolari Train Station in Äkäslompolo, B&B Adventures offers accommodation with seating area. The decoration in the upstairs common room was very inviting and created a cozy vibe. The young woman welcoming us and cooking our breakfast was very friendly and it was nice chatting to her and the other guests in the kitchen. The B&B was a short walk away from several restaurants in the very small town.

All units in the hotel are equipped with a kettle. With a private bathroom fitted with a bidet and a hairdryer, rooms at Arctic Skylight Lodge also feature a mountain view. All rooms at the accommodation have air conditioning and a desk. We spent one night in late March at Arctic Skylodge and it was magical. The cabin was warm, the bed was incredibly comfortable and we saw a little bit of aurora activity! So nice that you don’t have to go outside to see them. You can see the entire sky from the glass cabin. Breakfast was delicious and they also have gluten free options. We unfortunately didn’t get to have dinner here as the chef was unwell. But we did get a good tip from the receptionist to eat at Los Lompolo’s - a mix of Finnish and Mexican cuisine. It was delicious (get the churros!).

I wasn't expecting a private sauna in the bathroom when I booked (I'm not sure if they advertise that clearly but it was definitely a cool bonus) it heated up properly too (100C+). Facilities are great, lots of cutlery and plates etc, new kitchen facilities. It worked great for me as a night stopover on my road trip.

Offering 5 log cottages by Ylläs Mountain, Tunturioravat is a 5-minute walk from central Äkäslompolo. All cottages have wooden interiors, free Wi-Fi access and a private sauna. Ylläs Ski Resort is 2.7 km away. We had an absolutely perfect stay. The apartment was spotless, very cosy, and equipped with everything we could possibly need. We felt at home right away. We would happily stay here again and highly recommend it.
