Urasa Cottage @ Snow Countryside ligger i Minami Uonuma, 29 km fra Gala Yuzawa Skiresort og 25 km fra Maiko Skisportssted. Her er gratis wi-fi, aircondition, en have og et fælles opholdsområde. Clean, tidy, comfortable bed and Hongjie (staff) was extremely kind and gave us a lift to nearby ski resort AND let us leave bags at the cottage AND picked us up from skiing AND gave us a lift to the station.

We stayed here with our family during a two-week road trip around Japan, starting in Tokyo and staying in six different places along the way. Out of all the accommodations we booked, Sundance Resort Naeba was our clear favorite by a huge margin. The unit is incredibly spacious, with a stunning two-story window overlooking the snow-covered mountains. When it snows, it genuinely feels like you’re looking out at a giant snow globe. The apartment had far more space than our family of three needed, featuring a master bedroom on the second floor, another bedroom on the first floor, and two beds in each room. Cleanliness was not an issue at all, the place was spotless. It’s also very well equipped, with a pantry, dining table, heated floors, two toilets (each with its own bathtub), and a laundry room on the first floor. Another highlight was the privacy: the building is divided into north and south wings, with only one unit per floor, making the stay feel very exclusive and peaceful. At night, the resort was wonderfully quiet and serene, likely because we were there at the very start of the ski season, before the crowds arrived and while many nearby businesses were still closed. The staff were exceptional, always friendly, warm, and attentive. They even spoiled my wife with sweets and snacks throughout our stay. As a bonus, our booking included a delightful breakfast each morning. I can’t recommend this place highly enough. It was truly a fantastic and memorable stay Oh yeah there's free parking too for those driving up.

This is the type of place that attracts respectful guests. The owners are a lovely couple. It feels like you are in their home. It is very comfortable.

Yukinohana ligger i Yuzawa, 2,3 km fra Gala Yuzawa Skiresort. Her en restaurant og en bar samt gratis wi-fi. Der er desuden allergivenlige værelser. The entire hotel had a tatami floor. Amazingly clean and comfortable. Onsen was very good too.

Noka Minshuku Sanzen ligger 24 km fra Gala Yuzawa Skiresort og tilbyder en have og en terrasse samt indkvartering med aircondition, balkon og gratis wi-fi. We are so glad to find this gem! The hosts, including the cat, Mame, were most kind, warm, and hospitable. We went to the restaurants that they recommended. Ichihiro was superb, so good that we went twice! The host drove us there and back so that we could enjoy sake. The place is just lovely - the decor, the space. Everything works well. Heating was great as the weather turned cold. Appreciate the washing machine too. Despite the language barrier, we communicated well. Sincerely appreciate the oranges and persimmons that they gave us. They were so delicious!

Yado Brodiaea ligger 31 km fra Zenkō-ji-templet. Overnatningsstedet har gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering. Definitely one of the best stay experience so far in Japan. The hosts are extremely good and I am out of words to describe how welcoming they are. They took care of every small thing we needed and beyond that. They guided us through all the necessary details of the town, gave us a short tour of the town and also dropped and picked us up from the ski resort. The entire property has floor heating and was so clean, comfortable and cozy. I am really thankful to them for all the efforts they have made to make our trip a memorable one.

Pension Moomin Papa ligger i Myoko, 31 km fra Zenkō-ji-templet og 33 km fra Nagano Station. Her er gratis wi-fi, aircondition, en have og et fælles opholdsområde. Overnatningsstedet har spabad. Very homely and accommodating hosts. Onsen was great. Rooms warm. Breakfast was very good.

Belle Vue Nishiura ligger i Minami Uonuma i Niigata-regionen, 3 minutters gang fra skisportsstedet Ishiuchi-Maruyama. Der tilbydes ski til dør-adgang og skiopbevaringsrum. Satoshi-san is really kind and helpful. The hotel is in nice condition and really close to Ishiura

Maruyama Onsen Kojyokan ligger i Minami Uonuma, 2 km fra Maiko Snow Resort, og har terrasse og varme kilder. Der er gratis privat parkering på stedet. Der er gratis WiFi overalt på ejendommen. Truly one of the most wonderful inns I’ve stayed at in all of my times in Japan! The place is immaculate and feels lovely and new while also having a wonderful 「懐かしい」 vibe to it. From the very start all of the staff were kind and considerate and showed us all the ropes! I adored that the entry into the rooms is all keyless—there’s touch keypads on the doors! We tried all three baths since we reserved the wonderful private rooftop bath. As an FYI for anyone unaccustomed to such a thing, the rooms themselves do not have showers—you’re meant to use the bath areas for your cleaning, so if you’re uncomfortable with the onsen experience in Japan just be aware! You totally should get over your anxieties and use the bath though—they’re relaxing and luxuriant! We had one dinner with them and two breakfasts, and all of the food was absolutely delightful! The breakfast was buffet style and full of local/seasonal ingredients, and the dinner was course after course and we were very very well fed. All in all, I can’t say enough wonderful things. We adored our stay!

Yuzawa Grand Hotel is within a 2-minute walk from Echigo Yuzawa Train Station and the Sake Museum. It offers 3 public baths, a massage service and free parking on site. Yuzawa Grand hotel gave us the best Japan cultural immersion experience. Our room had both the western style bed but with Japanese tatamis and spare futons. This has been the highlight of our Japan trip as we experienced eating oranges in a low Japanese table, sleep in futons, experience the amazing Onsens Hot springs both indoor and outdoor. The hotel is very engaging, clean, accommodating-- i cannot praise it enough. It is also in this hotel that we tried sukiyaki for the first time and many amazing dishes and seafood in both their breakfast and dinner offers. We would really love to visit again in a few years time hopefully:)
