The city is not very nice but the beaches, specially the Forno Beach was great (go early due to the sun's movement. It get behind the mountain and at 3h30 PM it will not be on the sand anymore). Atalaia beach was too crowded for my taste.

Charming city, so much to see and do.

Charming city, so much to see and do. I love a bargain and there were bargains everywhere! Lots of great food and entertainment. People were very friendly and helpful. You can Uber for almost nothing here, although don't expect air conditioning in most of the cars. I highly recommend doing one of the boat cruises and anything you want to do you can get a better price online. Ask around before you do things, there are so many hidden treasures and such amazing food!! I love Cabo Frio and will definitely return!

Nice shops nearby lots places to eat very good food , good prices. My hotel was very good lovely staff. The town beach is beautiful however quite dirty sand wouldn't walk around without a good beach shoes. Lots of broken glass bottles. However the boat trips take u to some magnificent clean beaches like paradise worth to visit. Couldn't find a boat trip without loud music...I would prefer quietness. But it is super beautiful heaven.

Arraial do Cabo is nice for a stay on the beach and for diving. Praia Grande is really big with white sand. The temperature of the water may change rapidly. Praia dos Anjos is small but there is more sea life. The beach by the harbour is not so clean. Arraial do Cabo has many restaurants with tastefull options, also small restaurants where local people come to buy their lunch. This type of small restaurants is a real good option for healthy meals. Diving opportunities are plenty. Also boat trips.

The main atraction are the beaches.

The main atraction are the beaches. White sand, sunny days and very calm water. Another thing to do, almost a "must" is spending a couple of hours on board of a catamaran to see the city from a distance and enjoy the view of magnificent houses and yachts, not to mention the colour of the sea.
