I stayed here twice with a few day gap in between. They were nice enough to hold my bag for me while I was away. They also allowed me to check in early. Which I was so grateful for after a red eye flight. The location is great. Plenty of restaurants nearby and a nice stroll to the beach. I found it to be a safe neighborhood as a solo foreign female traveler. Sitting by the pool in the evening was my absolute favorite. Having an air conditioned room was a relief as it took a couple days to adjust to the weather. Having a mini fridge in my room was a nice bonus and was the filtered water in the kitchen. I enjoyed the airplane theme throughout the hostel. The edges of this place might be a little worn but it more than makes up for it by the hospitality of the staff. I would absolutely stay again!

It was comfortable and clean. The staff were all very friendly. We had dinner at the hotel and the food was good. The main bed was comfortable but the futon in the room was a little hard but ok for kids though.

Spa bath, size of the room, employees were nice, breakfast had lots of selections from cold to hot food, the hot water is pretty hot, does have ac but make sure you ask how to turn it on, the hotel has lots of potential. I'm willing to stay again and see how it is after the renovations.

Very nice place to visit for a few days but you are always looking over your shoulder. People seem very pleasant and willing to help. Lots to see some nice places to visit and eat but sadly very little investment in infrastructure and alot of spray art work on any flat surface makes it all look very rough.

Niteroi is different from Rio.
Niteroi is different from Rio. Is not as touristy or big as Rio de Janeiro, but it preserves much of the good things Rio has. For instance, food can be very cheap or expensive and still you can be surprised with great flavours. The park of the city is a must to visit and see the landscape from the hill, the fortaleza is also worth visiting. From Niteroi you can go to Rio by boat in a one day or two-day trip. But also you can visit other beaches towards the ocean not as populated or touristy as copacabana or Ipanema. If you are looking for a place more quiet and less touristy than Rio de Janeiro, then Niteroi and San Francisco are going to be good choices. No metro or stadiums in Niteroi

Niteroi is about the same distance from the International...
Niteroi is about the same distance from the International Airport as the more famous South Zone (Copacabana. Ipanema). The Niteroi Palace Hotel is in town, walking distance from Shopping Centre and the 30 min relaxing ferry boats to Rio City Centre. Very Good nearby "home cooking by weight" lunch only restaurant - ask Desk for simple direction. Few central night-time restaurants, but there are some within (secure) taxi distance. Avoid sitting street side for snacks/coffee and not to attract attention to multiple hand/carry bags.

What I like most was the tour which included the Christ...
What I like most was the tour which included the Christ redeemer and Sugar Love plus an all you can eat buffet lunch. The tour was booked through the hotel.
The night club within 5 minutes driving distance from the hotel was nice and staffs were super friendly.
Getting around was pretty easy either via train, yellow taxi or Uber with reasonable fare.
