The staff were very friendly and helpful. Meals were very delicious. Their rooms were neatly kept and properly furnished. When I requested to be served breakfast in my room, I was surprised that the service came at no extra charge. I highly recommend Best Lodge to anyone travelling to Tamale. I can't wait to return to the Hotel.

Ibrahim was an excellent host, very responsive and attentive. He was able to explain everything clearly up front. The house was beautiful, clean, and in a quiet spot. The air-conditioners all worked, although they worked best in the small rooms. The house was well-equipped with everything from kitchen utensils to an iron. This is an ideal place to stay if you have a group of people, and would be excellent for a long-term stay in Tamale!

I stayed here for almost a month and tried AirBnB and other hotels in Tamale before. Compared to all other options, this is by far the best value you can get. A small room is 250 GHS and a big room 300 GHS. The location is extremely clean, the rooms are bright with a lot of sunlight, the managing receptionist is very courteous and professional, and the hotel is right in the center of Tamale. Due to the double double glazed windows (IRRC), the noise from the main street was reduced considerably. The mattress and pillows were comfortable. Notably, there were no issues with electricity. At the AirBnB around Tuunayili Last Stop where I stayed for 2 months previously (same price), blackouts were a huge issue - about 3 times a week, for several hours. The record was 18 hours no electricity. At Gidi Lodge, the personnel is using backup generators. All hotels and AirBnBs in that price range won't use backup generators to save fuel. For a backup generator, you usually have to pay at least 50€ or more per night. The internet at the Gidi Lodge was fine, and the water was also running (which is not to be taken for granted). Overall, this is an exceptionally well-run hotel. After moving to the next town, I really miss Gidi Lodge. Anyone visiting Tamale should definitely book this place.
