We liked the common livingroom with boardgames, pingpong, stuffed toys and books. The terrace was huge and it was lovely to eat our dinner there with beautiful views. The kitchen was very well equipped. The whole house was very well cleaned and tidy.

The room scenery is very beautiful, the room layout is very warm, the house layout is very clean and sanitary, the facilities are very complete, the staff also has temporary changes, the landlord is very easy to communicate. Encountered some problems, contacted the landlord, he was the first time to contact and provide solutions, this is one of the most wonderful landlords in the world

It's an unforgettable experience! The train carriage that I booked is very pretty and gives oriental express vibes. Small but well equipped with stove, rice cooker toaster etc. the decor makes every photo you take looks like a postcard. And the WiFi here is the strongest amongst the 7 different accomodations(including motels) we have been to during this trip. Hot shower is strong too. I take it that the owner, Kevin takes pride in his offerings and puts in effort to ensure the old school charms comes with modern comforts.
Staff are very welcoming and goes extra mile to ensure our needs are catered to.
I think what makes this accommodation stands out is the convenience to access the farm animals and farm experience. The animals feeding thrown in was interactive and informative. The intimate interactions allows us to have insights in the behaviour of the different farm animals onsite. The llamas enclave sits next to our carriage and we get to observe them at night,
The stars at night were amazing.
I really missed the friendly animals. My favourite is Junior the farm dog who assumed his post immediately when he arrived. Checking in on us and keeps coming back to check on our well being and safety.
I strongly recommend this farm stay experience. It's quite near to town and easy to drive to.
It's fun, unique and worth every penny!

Lovely big house with spectacular views over South Bay as well as the snow on the mountains.
We were lucky enough to have front row seats watching a particularly cold southerly blast come through Kaikoura while sitting by the warm, cosy fire. Luckily for us, the weather changed the following days so we could fully enjoy the Kaikoura Trotting Cup.
The house is an easy walk down to the racecourse. There are also other wonderful walking/ biking trails close by.
A perfect house for a group of friends or 2 families staying together. Lots of room outside for kids to play and heaps of parking for boats and cars.
We loved the feel of the bach. It is so refreshing to stay in a bach that is not too modern and sterile.

Kaikoura is famous for whale watching - unfortunately we didn't see too many on our tripalthough the whale watching company (there is only one - based next to the train station) was very efficient.
The seal colony on the peninsular was very interesting (lots of seals everywhere - even in the grass) and worth driving down to.
Only part of the beach is safe - the section between Anzac Park and the peninsular so I presume this is the area popular with surfers although on our full day there the weather was poor so not many people in the sea.
There appears to be a good selection of accommodation in that area and a variety of places to eat.

Interesting town like an old version of Torquay in Victoria Australia. Great fish and chip shop. Due to the weather we didn’t book any tours out on the water for dolphin watching etc.Interesting historical whaling station nearby and a wonderful old pub next to the pier.

Kaikoura is unique with its rocky mountains coming almost down to the shore. On a fine day, it is stunning. There is a very pleasant walk along the shore from the town centre right to the head of the peninsula. And of course whale-watching is a great attraction.
