The property was spotlessly clean beautifully decorated, the bed was the most comfortable bed we’ve slept in on our trip through the North Island
Kay was a great host
There is no complaints from us at all
I go far as saying it the best accommodation we’ve stayed in so far

Initially, I was skeptical about booking this establishment due to mixed reviews. However, my stay in room 58 in the round building exceeded expectations. The accommodations were clean, spacious, and quiet. The guest laundry facility is a bonus. Overall, I would gladly return given the opportunity.

Cute town, easy to park and move around.
Cute town, easy to park and move around. Architecture is novel and striking for NZ :0) Vincis pizza is the best!! A visit to havelock North is well worth it too with some lovely eateries and op shops as well as the more pricey ones!! A walk along the seafront in Napier is a pleasant way to while away some time..

This is a great place for a quiet, relaxing stay, with access to nearby beach walks and walking trails in the Ta Mata National Park.
Don't come if you want night life or nearby restaurants. You're in the countryside, and the nearest town (Napier) is a bout 15km away..

We are holiday makers from South Africa and we enjoyed seeing all the Art Deco buildings around Twyford. People we met were extremely helpful and friendly, especially at the Information Centre. There were plenty of places to have snacks or a full meal as we walked down the shopping precinct. We enjoy history, and loved our visit to the Mission Winery. It's certainly worth a visit. Nearby, was a small factory, that made mouth watering, delicious chocolate. We were spoilt for choice. We thoroughly enjoyed our day at Twyford.

The shopping area was convenient.
The shopping area was convenient. I liked how the Warehouse and other shops were close by and a nice cafe/bakery was amongst it.
Found it easy to get from one area to another with our GPS. Trying out Popeyes fast food was a interesting experience. Too spicy but then two of us were old codgers!!

Lovely seaside town, great architecture and climate.
Lovely seaside town, great architecture and climate. Wear sunscreen and a hat!
I ate at Hapi twice, which is a great spot for vegan/allergy-havers and those who want to eat organically (I had cornbread, a filling sandwich and a rich cake). I had a very yummy peach cider from The Rogue Hop and some satisfying fries. I had a yummy curry from The Turmeric Cuisine over at the port, who also have a selection of vegan dishes. I had a good coffee from Baked on the side of the Central Fire Station Bistro. I had a beer at Market St bar which was busy in a good way with a range of ages in attendance.
I had a vehicle to drive around with so that was easy but the people of Hawkes Bay are pretty useless with their indicators.
I checked out The Department of Curiosities which was pretty cute, the pottery place next door which had some lovely works and the Tennyson Gallery which had some beautiful pieces of jewellery - all local wares. The Boyd Dunlop galleries are filled with a wide variety of high quality contemporary art pieces and the owners are lovely.
The MTG (Museum) was great as a solo traveller. I recommend the basement exhibition to learn about the local history of the massive earthquake which shaped what the town is today.
Was nice to see some new paint on the buildings since I was last there, much more colourful and interesting.

We were taken by surprise.
We were taken by surprise. A trendy little town with great eating options nestled between Hastings and Napier, on the Clive River, is very handy to the whole of Hawkes Bay. Visiting the Gannet Colony with Overland Safaris was definitely the highlight of our trip, highly recommended. We ate twice at the Thai restaurant ER DEE WA....fresh, delicious, reasonable priced.

Hastings is part of the Hawkes Bay region.
Hastings is part of the Hawkes Bay region. Napier is a much nicer place. Hastings town was empty with no shops or places to eat at night.
Would stay in Napier & explore everything from there rather than basing your stay in Hastings.
Surrounding areas offered things to do but you need your own transport.
Excellent wineries but again operate during the day.

We only stayed for the evening as we were attending A sports event in Hastings. It was a great place to visit for an overnight stay. We had a nice dinner at the Irish bar along the road with a couple of drinks. We have visited Napier many times and would recommend others visit this city.

The accommodation was in pristine condition. We had privacy from neighbouring guests. Facilities for self catering were excellent. The nearby beach was easily accessible with walking and cycling path.
