The old villa has a very special charm. I felt right at home. The kitchen was so well-equipped, which was wonderful. The shower was fantastic, and the bed was so comfortable! But what really made me special was our host, Debby. She's such a wonderful person. We had some deep conversations, and she even got up extra early one Sunday morning to drive me to the bus stop. Thank you for everything, Debby. I'll never forget my stay with you.

Great unit, friendly staff and even a personalised letter of welcome. A nice chair each, both with an individual foot stool.

The apartment is stunning - an old building has been beautifully refurbished with some of the older features. Location, hosts, cleanliness - can’t be beaten. We will absolutely be staying again.

The small house backing on to a hill, with a view of the ocean in the distance, was a pleasant surprise for us - with the whole bach available for us to stay. Well worth the cost, and we could have stayed longer.

So much to see. The architecture is beautiful.
So much to see. The architecture is beautiful. Old buildings lovingly painted in pastel colours , a superb playground for the children , a paddle steamer riverboat which cruises the Whanganui river . A very pretty city with lots to enjoy. Great art shops and the best farmers markets ever . Fab restaurants to name a few The Rutland Arms , and the Castlecliff cafe/restaurant “The Citadel”.

I love Whanganui and have always enjoyed my time there — I have family in the area.
Momiji was a lovely place to go for dinner, and Caroline’s Boatshed is always a favourite for a meal.
The Saturday market is also a great place to visit and never disappoints.
