Lovely hotel great views sat on the balcony , apartment was great with plenty of space and could also enjoy the lovely selection for breakfast , either sat inside or by the pool, a great base to explore the whole island , will stay here again 😀

Fabulous home in a wonderful location, easy walking to restaurants, bars, supermarkets, and excellent off street parking. Good cross flow ventilation to mitigate the warm humid weather in August. Good cooking facilities, including a charcoal BBQ on a large furnished terrace. Very comfortable bed and living room furniture. Greatly appreciated the washing machine, and outside clothes line. We were pleasantly surprised how spectacularly beautiful Santa Maria Island was, and how warm the water was for swimming.

We enjoyed our stay on this beautiful Island, the people, the beaches, the quaint town with its lovely cafe's and restaurants. We had a great taxi driver Roberto Moniz who spoke English and took us on a day trip around the island, he gave us lots of information and historical facts. We went diving with Haliotis Aventuras Submersas and it was magical swimming with 30-40 mantarays. Hotel Colombo was nice and included breakfast. We stayed 4 nights because of flights only twice a week but did need a couple of extra days to explore. The proprietor at the local pub knew a lot of the Island and its history, great place to eat and drink. We went at the beginning of August and the weather was great.
