I had a fantastic time staying at the NW Olympic Retreat in Port Angeles! It was a truly comfortable and relaxing experience, making it feel like a home away from home. The property is located in a peaceful and quiet neighbourhood, offering a serene escape from the hustle and bustle.
The property is well-equipped with all the amenities you could need. The kitchen was fully stocked with cooking accessories, making it easy to prepare meals, and there was even a laundry area for added convenience. Both bedrooms were incredibly comfortable, with smart TVs available in each room to relax and unwind after a day of exploration.
The common sitting area was a highlight, complete with a spacious open kitchen and dining area. A large smart TV in the living room allowed us to enjoy entertainment in comfort. One of my favourite parts was the stunning view of the mountains from the sitting area—it made the whole experience even more special.
Parking was also a breeze, with space available for two cars on the property. Another lovely surprise was seeing deer in the mornings, grazing on the property’s grass fields. It was a peaceful touch that made the stay even more magical.
Overall, this retreat offers a perfect blend of comfort, convenience, and natural beauty. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting Port Angeles!

We requested a top floor that faces the marina. It was perfect!! More than we expected!! Even standing at the "entrance" of our room was a spectacular view of the mountains behind us. Super friendly staff, great continental breakfast, walking distance to all the shops, restaurants "AND" the ferry.

Flagstone Motel is a simple but spotlessly clean accommodation in Port Angeles, ideal for visits to Olympic National Park and Peninsular, as well as for catching the ferry over to Vancouver Island in Canada - the car ferry is in fact walkable from the motel if you want to go over as a foot passenger, and there are private parking lots where you can leave your car. You can also walk to a number of bars and restaurants from the motel so we found it to be a fantastic location. We were surprised how early everything closes in town (we visited in September) but found a sports bar called Bourbon West to be open until midnight. Flagstone prices are affordable so it offers a very good price quality ratio. The staff and manager work hard to make your stay enjoyable.

Port Angeles is a great small town!
Port Angeles is a great small town! We chose the location as it was a good spot to travel to and from Olympic national park, but we were pleasantly surprised with the town. We enjoyed the restaurants, and the breweries.

Small town with freindly people.
Small town with freindly people. We ate at Saba Thai which was good. Across wyndham super 8 there are food joints like starbucks, KFC etc with easy access Waterfront area is limited. We used port angeles as base for travelling to Hurricane ridge, HOH rainforest (Hall of Mosses), Ruby beach and Forks. Breakfast at Princess Inn in Forks was excellent

If I had come earlier in the fall when the weather was better two nights at the hotel with time to explore Hurricane Ridge would have been my preference. The town is ok, it lacks the charm of places like Port Townsend or Poulsbo but most people come for the Olympic Forest or the ferry to Victoria BC.
