The girl at the front desk was awesome! She was accommodating and very friendly. I forgot her name but she was new. If it weren't for her we would not have been able to check-in to the hotel at all.

The caverns are a must see! So amazing and large.
The caverns are a must see! So amazing and large. Plus the Guadalupe Mountain National Park in Texas is just a short drive away, too.
The biggest surprise was the Living Desert State Park! It was a wonderful botanic garden and zoo. Even in the heat, it was fantastic!
The food was okay - nothing awful, nothing fabulous.
The people? They were awesome, so friendly and helpful!

I have so may happy memories of summer trips to Carlsbad...
I have so may happy memories of summer trips to Carlsbad Caverns, White's City and Rattlesnake Springs throughout my childhood and while a lot has changed it was so much fun taking my husband there to share with him. There is also a great Asian buffet called China Dragon Buffet; HIGHLY recommend! While Carlsbad NM is a small town it has all the amenities and the folks there are truly great!

The city is primarily an oilfield town, with some corporate chains for restaurants. We went into town into what appeared to be a Barrio neighborhood, and had some of the best food I've ever experienced.
