Hotels near Orcas Island Airport - ESD, Eastsound

Cute little town with lots of artsy stuff. A few good restaurants and a large grocery store. Its the main place to go for anything you need on the island. Nice public beach and day use dock for dingy or small boats.

We highly recommend Orcas Island / Eastsound. We enjoyed the stunning views, the beaches, the parks and the kid friendly trails, the galleries, shops and bakeries and a whale watching excursion. We prepared most of our own meals, but had a delicious lunch at Buck Bay Shellfish Farm, bread from Orcas Bakery and our last breakfast from Brown Bear Bakery. We loved Orcas Pottery. Our whale watching with Outer Island Excursions was a highlight of the trip. We got to see two humpback whales put on a show! Loved this place and wish we had stayed longer.

Make ferry reservations and be prepared with your vehicle sizes. Great area - very quiet. Easy to get around and friendly service. We enjoyed a storm event and made the cabin even more exciting in the off season. Beautiful views and good food services. We enjoyed the market in Orcas. It is hard to get to and that makes if a very special place. We saw trash from previous renters - please keep the islands clean. Bring your camera!! We went to the Mt Constitution look out. Great view.

Beautiful little village with cute shops, beautiful setting on water, flowers galore, lots of eateries— bakeries, lunch & breakfast, outdoor, fish & even Mexican—all delicious. Water and forest trails to explore. Do drive up to Constitution Mountain in Moran Park. Warning: remember to make ferry reservations early.

Eastsound was wonderful! Would definatley recommend the Lone Pine Larder! One of the most delicious bites from the whole weekend. Didn't get a chance to visit Houlme but their pizza looked divine. Brown bear baking was the elite coffee and pastry choice, and I'd recommend getting ice cream from clever cow creamery and wine from Doe Bay Wine. The Orcas Island Historical Museum was fun as well! There's some great places outside of town as well but those were my most favorite spots in Eastsound.

Orcas Island is less populated and less busy than San Juan Island and it has 2 great mountain hiking areas. Eastsound is the main village and has a gas station, supermarket, coffee shops and excellent bakery. You can walk alla round Eastsound, but definitely need a car to see the island.
