The Gettysburg National Park is a must see for everyone! There is so much history in this little town. Go to the Visitor Center for sure. They have a museum and bus tours available. There are also horse back riding tours available. There are many options to purchase audio for a self guided auto tours available on line too. Highly recommend visiting Sachs Bridge, Little Round Top and the Eisenhower farm. When you're not on the battle field, there are numerous places to eat and places to shop. Also, bring a nice camera for some amazing photos.

Tons of monuments. One for each Corp involved in both sides of the battles fought there. If you are going there for historical purposes, definitely get the auto tour. It helped us so much and we loved it. We stopped as much as we wanted to and got out and looked at what we wanted to see but still got a great understanding of the battles fought in the 3 days. The tour we got was about a 1/2 day in length with no deviations but it took us most of the day because we stopped and got out many times to see the area. The tour also had extras that we listened to. It was great. Definitely see little round top. From there you get a good perspective of the field and what occurred there.

The museums and grounds are an absolute gem to our country. The city and dining are top notch. Was amazed at how clean the place was. Other tourist cities need to come visit, as this is a great example. Excellent dining and plenty of options. Dobbins House was beyond exceptional.

Gettysburg is alive with so much history. The town is still small and the downtown area remains pretty much as it was during the battle and shortly after. There are many great museums, restaurants, and shops to frequent. Of course, the best part is the well preserved battlefield and the stories for those who fought and died for their country.

Loved Gettysburg. I recommend the bus tour to get the history of the battlefields, monuments and the buildings when you first get there. The Gettysburg Museum and visitor center has an awesome map of the complete area that you can follow and take pictures of the beautiful monuments and battlefields at your leisure. There’s also a map of Gettysburg with attractions in the area you can explore in the area. We stayed 3 nights at the 1863 Inn which included breakfast. Perfect amount of time for us.

Every American should travel to Gettysburg to fully grasp the gravity of what happened in this small town. The battle changed the course of history and America, for the better and it is important for all citizens to know the truth about the people who died here.
