I liked it all. The room was comfortable, I was always well attended to by any of the hotel employees. The hotel has a swimming pool and a gym, which is appreciated. The breakfast was simple but sufficient for a person who has to work all day.

Worst hotel i have ever stayed at! Disgusting smell, very dirty, everything broken down. Nothing worked including the shower. Manager savanna incredibly rude and controversial even to her staff. Unexpected fees that cost more than the hotel itself. Filthy pool, key to gym didnt work. They lost our check in paperwork so locked us out of our room. I wanted to leave as soon as i got there. This place should not be on booking.com. I want a refund! Stay at horseshoe dont stay here, you will regret it. Their reviews are fake! Abd they hide their true bad reviews

Very spacious rooms. Everything needed - fullsize fridge, stovetop, dishwasher, cookware, dinnerware. Very friendly & courteous staff. Quiet & peaceful location. Well maintained property. Free breakfast with a good variety.
Friendly,, helpful, attentive, accommodating staff. Meticulously clean lobby and breakfast areas along with other common areas. The rooms were spotless and well equipped with frig, microwave, dishes, etc. Above all the beds were super comfortable and the room quiet as a mouse. The wife said she could have spent the week there.

I was born in Sulphur, my house was destroyed in Hurricane Laura, the city shits on disabled veterans!!! The day I sell my property there will be the best day of my life!!! Moving back there with my daughters in 2009 was THE WORST decision of my life!! The school system absolutely sucks if you are not in the city clique, my youngest was a straight A student since first grade and in the advanced student program, she was always denied access to "The Governors Kids Program for Accelerated Students". Since Hurricane Laura the city has been taking people's ancestral homes and land, EVEN from disabled Veterans!!!
There is NOTHING worth visiting in this town unless they are a relative of yours. If you are passing thru, keep driving to Texas, or heading to Lafayette if going east, you will have a better trip that way. BUT, The Longhorn Truck Plaza has a good hotel at a very fair price, they are the 1st exit in LA east bound, or the last exit before Texas going west. I wish I had photos to share, I don't have them on this phone.

While L'Auberge Casino is certainly worth visiting and seeing, the slots seemed to have higher minimum bets. The coffee and soft drink stations along the walls were nice, though. Decor and grounds are an experience. We stayed at the Horseshoe and loved the art deco vibe. Gordon Ramsay's restaurant was the main reason for the trip and was very good (pricey, of course) with excellent service. Dessert was incredible. Had a good burger at a hole in the wall in old downtown and like the waterfront park in that area. Remember that this is a working port, which makes views from and around the casino very industrial. If you'll be offended by a view of cargo ships and refineries from your hotel, Lake Charles is not for you. You'll also see buildings damaged by hurricanes that have yet to be repaired. Some areas look a bit dystopian. Tourists are typically there for the casinos, after all. The million dollar homes along Shell Beach Drive are worth seeing if you're driving around.

Westlake is a quiet little town. We stayed there because it is close to the casinos & affordable priced. The hotel has been completely remodeled, but still needs a little work to make it extremely comfortable .

Sulphur is a growing community and the residents in the area are very friendly. There are new businesses opening up all of the time and there are several main roads running through Sulphur which helps with traffic congestion.

Liked that I was 3 minutes from where I had to go. Angered that I was charged $80 when I had a confirmed charge of $69.11 that included taxes and shown to employee checking me in. She did care. Said all rms were $80 and refused to change it. Bed was squishy, pillows were cheap and the room, #411, smelled like SKUNK! Really…SKUNK! Not an exaggeration. Will never book another stay there.
