The room was immaculate, cozy, and very smartly appointed. Very comfortable and nice to have a small sofa. Bathroom was a good size and had plenty of towels. Didn't feel cramped at all. We'd book at Home2again!!

It was a convenient place to stop on our trip. The Danskammer Inn itself was great! The falls were quite impressive. There are vineyards nearby. Otherwise the town centre was a little dustier and more rundown than I would have liked.

The area had changed a lot since my wife was up there in the late 80s for school at the CIA. The town has gotten seedier and we were warned by several wait staff at various restaurants to be careful where you wandered at night. Rhinebeck would have been a better option for what we needed.

Gem of a hotel.
Gem of a hotel. I am a former resident of the area and have worked for major hotel chains as well as stayed at many (sometimes for many months at a time). I am fully aware of other hotels in the area and their value. This hotel is great for the repeat buisness traveler as well as anyone new visiting the area. Great value for the cost.I come to the area once a month and not wanting to impose myself on others, I now found a clean, safe and comfortable place to stay.

There was nothing that did not meet our expectations. The inn is an historic building which has been beautifully restored. All expected amenities plus afternoon snack and tea of coffee is provided. The included breakfasts are home cooked and were exceptional. Many indoor and outdoor rooms and spaces to gather to have privacy. The hosts are extremely knowledgeable, interesting and amiable. We thoroughly enjoyed every aspect of our stay and expect to return.

It was my first time in upstate NY!
It was my first time in upstate NY! I didn't realise the extent of the forests, and in the Fall, the leaves are changing color, and it's gorgeous. I couldn't visit any of the national parks due to the government closure! My friends took me to a vineyard for wine tasting. I didn't know grapes could grow in the area. The Hudson Valley is beautiful! I came for a celebration of life, so there wasn't a lot of time to visit and socialize. I'd like to return.

Your location is great for my visits to West Point Military Academy to see my son and there was plenty of shops and restaurants near by . The bed was very comfortable.
I was extremely disappointed when I arrived at almost midnight Friday because you did not have a working ice machine and I was told, at that time of night, that my best option was to go to the neighboring gas station to purchase ice as they are open 24 hrs. The excuse for no ice at the hotel was that you were renovating and becoming a Hilton Spark. I was shocked that you did not have a backup plan for your ice situation as you never had ice the entire weekend.
Additionally, due to your construction and a tripping of a fuse, Sunday when I was leaving, I waited over 5 minutes for the elevator and gave up. I walked down three flights of stairs with luggage to be told the elevator wasn't working due to the fuse and the front desk was just informed of it so they were fixing it. If you are traveling with elderly or individuals with disabilities, this would be a horrible situation. I could not bring my father to visit his grandson with this were to continue.
I do hope that once you have converted to a Hilton things will improve with customer service. My son just started his 4 years there and I plan on visiting several times a year.

Marlboro is strategically located between two bridges over the river on the (quieter) west side of the valley (think glorious sun rises). We liked the 'village' feel, yet, it has everything the traveler needs at the end of the day: restaurants, a pub and a superb family-owned deli, all around the village center, which was just down the road.

I lived in the Poughkeepsie area for 45 years. It is a great place to live and to visit. It offers many great things to do in the surrounding areas as well for families, couples and singles too. Lots of history, great restaurants and outdoor activities. The Hudson Valley is beautiful and offers something for everyone.
