Just half an hour from Lucerne by ferry, Weggis offers a calm and peaceful atmosphere with breathtaking lake views. Perfectly situated right on the lake, with Mount Rigi station within walking distance. From there, you can take the gondola (cable car) and then the classic train up to Mount Rigi — an unforgettable experience. The room was spotless, with a balcony overlooking the lake. Waking up to that view was magical. Hotel provide me guest card which was use free for cable car and Rigi train trip. The staff were exceptionally kind and helpful, guiding me to sightseeing options. Breakfast was delicious and well-prepared. The ferry rides across the lake were stunning, and every moment in Weggis felt relaxing and rejuvenating. I will definitely return to Seehotel Gotthard Hotel with my family on my next visit. Weggis was a true gem and a great find — peaceful, scenic, and unforgettable.

I loved everything about this property. It was spacious and well laid out and had an incredible view of the lake and snow capped mountains from upstairs. The host Nadja was exceptional, so flexible with great communication. I chose to stay in Weggis and do day trips to Lucerne and Rigi which worked out perfectly.

Seehotel Kastanienbaum welcomes you on the quiet Horw peninsula, a 15-minute drive from the old town of Lucerne. Everything was perfect. The view was amazing. The breakfast was wonderful. Close to the city (18 min. by bus and they provided a guest card/ticket for our convenience when commuting) but actually you feel like you are in the suburbs.Very clean and spacious rooms. They also let us leave our suitcases there after check out so that we could explore the city. We really wanted to stay more but everything was already booked.We just wish we didn't have to leave.

The hotel gave me a nostalgic student / university dorm vibe, which honestly took me back to my uni days in a very positive way. The atmosphere felt calm, simple, and welcoming, and I was genuinely happy with the stay. The room was clean, warm, and comfortable, and everything worked as expected. The staff were friendly and helpful — one of them even reminded me of Lucius Malfoy from Harry Potter 😄, which added a fun and memorable touch to the experience. Lucerne itself also has a bit of a magical, Harry Potter–like atmosphere, especially in winter.
