Beautiful property, peaceful, kayaks to rent, helpful owners, a darling child to play with if you want to, very few mosquitoes and no bugs, a restaurant with decent food. Staying on the river instead of in the chaotic town of Livingston felt like a better experience.

The place is stunning, the food is amazing, all the staff is super nice, theres no phone connection so you can socialize easily with all the other guests. I would say that one day here is not enough because theres lots of activities to do and to fully enjoy it is better to take your time to relax. I would also recommend the chocolate workshop, we made like snickers chocolates but with real cacao and it was so good! We would love to come back in the future

When we arrived we felt like at home. All of their workers there are super nice, have a nice smile and they make everything happen that you feel super nice there. The standard of everything there is just higher than in any other hotel we have been so far in Guatemala. If it comes to the shower, bathroom, bed or any other facilities, it’s just great! Also the small details! And the best thing is really as already mentioned the staff there. This is one of the hotels where you will say in a few years, remember the „El Viajero“ in rio dulce, and you‘ll immediately remember which one it was.

Great location at the lake with nice views from the rooms and balconies. Great breakfast and dinner, with large choice of both local dishes and popular dishes such as their pizzas. Staff was super friendly and helped us a lot when we forgot a phone on the boat. Unfortunately we only stayed one night, we regret as there are enough activities to do and the hotel is a great place to hangout!

Amatique Bay Hotel ligger i Izabal, 30 minutters bådtur fra Punta de Palma, og har udendørs swimmingpool og restaurant. Der tilbydes gratis WiFi på resortet. I loved the horse-riding and the swimming pool. The sunsets from the beach were stunning. The reception staff were very caring & helpful with my onward journey. Very handy having the laundry service and great to have a lovely hot shower after staying in hostels. Great size pool.
