Helmi and his wife and family are so nice. there's even a tofu restaurant small business in the front of the homestay, very cute. it's on the beach which is great, easy to rent snorkel gear (about 50k/day) and a motorbike (also about 100k/day). right next door to Blueshark diving, Dion and Jeffrey and the crew here are awesome. The snorkeling is also nice right at the reef at the property, just swim like 50-100m out (takes 5 mins). Amazing sunsets. Room is simple. A bit hot in the mornings. There's free coffee/water/tea. Bathroom is simple, just 1 bathroom shared with 3 rooms. i hope to stay again!

The location of the property is the best spot for self snorkelling and they have boat trips for daily snorkel and scuba points with realy good staff and boats are not crowded. This is a family owened bussiness and thanks to Jerry and Wileke they answered all my questions patiently and helped me during our stay. It was very nice listening Jerry's singing with his guitar on the beach. They also have a beautiful large tropical garden.

Pak Alex and his team are ever attentive and helpful. Alex accommodated changed dates and flights etc despite Booking.coms useless customer support. The rooms have recently been refurbished, the hot water hot and everything is spotless. The view over the busy but picturesque Strait is fantastic. Having lived in Indonesia 25 years ago I can honestly say that the food is a good as any home cooked food anywhere with great variation. Sign up for the full catered option. The other house staff are equally helpful and will happily run an errand to pick up supplies as the place is a tad isolated- even they don’t ask or expect don’t forget to tip. While in the area we did some Muck snorkelling with Ibu Feronika from Rumah Selam who operate near bye-it was awesome. Feronika can also help with highland and nature park tours, plus transport to and from Manado. Can highly recommend.

The accommodation was very comfortable, with great amenities and a great view of nature. Yuli and Mehdi are incredible hosts who make you feel right at home. I had some amazing dives, and the professional instructors made the experience even better. I also enjoyed making friends and having fun conversations with other guests at the bar. To top it off, the food at the restaurant was amazing. Both the local and international options were very delicious. Can't wait to come back!

She spoke superb English and was instrumental in securing opportunities for snorkeling trips and all the necessary equipment which was my intended focus. The neighborhood where her homestay house is located provided a true Bunaken Island village experience. Bunaken Marine Park and boat access is right in the back yard as the property is on the water.

The room was very spacious, had a big bed and a very good fan that definitely cooled the room down enough. The bathroom was simple but worked perfectly and had everything you needed. Mama Lis was the kindest, most caring woman, always looking over my needs, cooking amazing dishes with a lot of variety and always had a very big smile on her face. I felt at home there and would have stayed even longer if I could have. If you want to have breakfast every day overlooking the ocean and the best host I would definitely recommend staying here.
