We used the roof terrace every evening to sit with a drink and listen to the chorus of tree frogs and cicadas, which was very relaxing. Barbara even provided a mean strawberry daiquiri. They are both very friendly and welcoming, and it’s clear they enjoy meeting new people. The setup is a shared house situation—you have your own private room with a separate entrance and bathroom, but they live right next door. Laura was very attentive and even checked in with me in the evenings to make sure everything was okay since I was traveling alone as a woman. I really appreciated her kindness and care. She also arranged a driver for me from Port Antonio to pick me up and bring me to the apartment, as well as for my return trip, which made things so much easier.
