She introduced us to Japanese calligraphy, as she’s a talented artist herself. This place is truly a hidden gem.

Quiet location with the gentle sound of the surf. I am on a bicycle ride and found the location ideal: A day's ride from Amami via Route 81, then a loop to Kasarizaka Lighthouse at northern end of island, then a ride south on Route 58.

It is spacious for a family of four (easily a couple more), spotless clean, new, great location by the beach, nice view, big balcony, washer and dryer downstairs, and last but not least friendly and super helpful staff. Its first floor is their cafe and tour desk. We had breakfast a couple times which was great. We also took their sea turtle snorkeling tour and the guide was very attentive to us beginners and had a wonderful time swimming with a sea turtle.
