The hosts were brilliant and welcoming. We enjoyed learning about Bulgaria and specifically Kalofer's history. The room had everything we needed for our hiking holiday, even got the chance to taste some home made alcohol! :D The hotel is simplistic and beautiful! Just what we were looking for.

This a lovely restored house in an old late 19 century Bulgarian ("Vazrozhdenski") style. The rooms are nicely furnished in a corresponding style creating a cohesive and authentic atmosphere. The garden was absolutely lovely with tables put outside under a grapevine canopy made shade where you are more than welcome to sit, eat and talk. You can see the owner really takes care of every little detail around the house and the garden. The host is very welcoming and polite. We even found out we have a common hobby (photography) over which we could talk a lot. Overall, it was a great experience and the only thing I regret is staying there for only 1 night.
