We had a wonderful stay at the Mardale Inn! It’s such a special place – a true community pub that’s clearly supported and loved by the people around it. The rooms are beautifully decorated with lots of thoughtful details, and the staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely caring. You can really feel the heart and soul that go into this place. Highly recommended!

This place is steeped in Wainwright history so is a perfect place to stay is your doing the Coast to Coast or any other walking in the area. The beds a comfortable, the rooms are big and the view from our window was gorgeous. The owners are delightful and extremely helpfuland the honesty bar was an added bonus.

Location was very handy to the motorway junction and ideal for an overnight stay en route. The facilities are good, property is well kept and the host was very welcoming on arrival. The breakfast was freshly cooked at a time to suit our departure and well presented.

We loved this stay! Clean and comfortable rooms with such lovely and welcoming hosts. Based on Angela's recommendation we walked to the local pub for dinner, and it was really nice. We were also charmed by the gorgeous view of a field from our window.

Lovely property in a great location, a short drive away from Ullswater. Wonderful hosts, very comfortable room, excellent breakfast. Love wildlife, so the red squirrels and birds in the garden were a real highlight for me!
