This quaint, historic grade II listed property is 9 minutes' drive from York Dungeon and JORVIK Viking Centre. York Castle Museum is 13 minutes' drive away. Comfortable room, spacious, beds were ridiculously comfortable and soft! Bathroom was gorgeous and the whole space was lovely for us as a family of 5. Short walk into town aswell which was great!

Breakfast is served until 10:00 on a weekend, and until 9.30 from Monday to Friday. Nice location right outside the city walls with about a 10 minute walk to the city centre, staff were very helpful and it was very silent which I appreciated a lot. There was also access to a lovely pantry with most necessities one could need. All in all I had a great stay.

Very clean room, lovely Staff/owner very accommodating bed was very comfortable, Bonus it has a carpark breakfast was excellent.

The individually designed bedrooms at Wheeldale each have a private bathroom and a flat-screen TV with Sky channels. Some rooms have seating areas and impressive sea views, and all rooms have tea/coffee facilities. We loved our stay at The Wheeldale and won't hesitate to come back! Immaculately clean room, lovely staff and we slept great during our stay. Check-in was quick and simple and we got some handy tips for the area. Shower pressure was very good too (which I personally find important).
