Now my second time and my go for place to stay on this beautiful island. i enjoy the tatami room, but also there is one room with a western bed. a kitchen with everything what is needed to prepare food and tea / coffee. I had a wonderful stay at this beautifully preserved 96-year-old Japanese-style house in Yakushima. The traditional atmosphere is incredibly charming, and you can truly feel the history and care that’s gone into maintaining the home. Everything was exceptionally clean and well-kept, making it both authentic and comfortable. Kimika was an amazing host—thoughtful, welcoming, and full of great energy. The decor in the house is very nice, and the view from the house is stunning as well. In the common room, Kimika also thoughtfully provided delicious local coffee and tea from Yakushima, which added an extra touch of warmth and hospitality. The kitchen also has everything you need. The house is very close to Isso beach, which is a great place to see the sunset. This is the perfect place to unwind and connect with the beauty of Yakushima, and also connect with the locals. I highly recommend staying here if you’re looking for a unique and memorable experience on this magical island.

I had a wonderful stay at this guesthouse, warmly welcomed by the amazing hosts. The price–quality ratio is honestly one of the best I’ve ever experienced. The breakfast was absolutely delicious, and on my last day, Kami even prepared some homemade onigiri for me to take for lunch, they were so tasty and such a thoughtful gesture. I truly felt cared for throughout my stay. This was the best place I stayed at in Japan, and when I return to Amami, I will definitely come back here.

The host was always available for everything. Probably witnessed the peak of Japanese culture (with people being helpful in every way possible) here. The host (without even us asking him for anything) found that our shoes were wet after a trek put them for drying (on a drying machine) only for us to find the shoes all dried up the next day. Unbelievable. The location is walkable from the port and has house had everything you’d need. The kitchen and the shower was equipped with everything that you’d need during your stay. The house was small but very clean. Would highly recommend.

We verbleven twee nachten bij Blue Drop. Yuki is een fantastische host die bereid is je te helpen, zeer vriendelijk is en ook nog eens een lekker ontbijt en mooie kaseiki maaltijd kan bereiden. We vonden de natuur mooi en de vibe van Yukashima heerlijk. Yuki heeft voor ons de huur van een autootje geregeld; een auto maakt dat je veel meer vrijheid hebt om over het eiland te bewegen. De kleine weggetjes zijn geweldig om over heen te rijden en het eiland te ontdekken. Ook heeft ze voor ons kaartjes voor de boottrip naar Kagoshima gereserveerd - dat bleek achteraf zeer prettig omdat we anders niet mee hadden gekund op het gewenste tijdstip. Al met al een aanrader om te verblijven als je Yakushima aandoet!

La Isla Tasse bevindt zich in Yakushima, op 1,7 km van Harutahama Beach, en biedt accommodatie met gratis WiFi en gratis privéparkeren. The owner and staff were absolutely fantastic. The owner help us figure everything out for a next day's trek to Jomon Sugi. And day after that one of his staff took us to the airport to help us rent a car. They truly go above and beyond and the property is also very nice. Lot's of tasty izakayas around.
