The rooms are round a lovely garden which is shared with the owners. It's a shady haven, with a pool, and swings and hammocks to chill in. The rooms are spacious and beds are comfy. We visited a river beach nearby which was really fun and the Casa da Ponte owners lent us paddle boards. We also enjoyed the pool table and the turtle pond.The owners are really friendly and welcoming but also give you plenty of space. All in all we loved it and hope to be back!

Charming house tastefully and very nicely renovated and decorated, in a very good location directly in the center. Very welcoming staff - Iliana was so friendly and helpful. Beautiful room and house with original elements incorporated and preserved and incorporated to the housing. The breakfast was exceptional - nothing too short. A cosy living area with fireplace, which was lit and very welcoming on a bit cloudy day. Little pool in the courtyard that can be used in warmer season.

Nice, spacious terrace and room with a kitchen outside; the TV is also of a good size and high up on the wall; and the staff are really kind. We forgot a pair of glasses and the owner promptly mailed it to us and refused to charge us for it. Great experience! Two weary cyclists arrived for one night. We were delighted! Ines—one of the owners— is warm and welcoming. Our room was splendid—comfortable, lovely, overlooking the beautiful pool. Breakfast was perfect—obrigado Patricia! We liked this beautiful Solar ( a former school where Ines was a schoolgirl—how cool!) so much that we stayed one more night! My friend left for work in Lisboa and I stayed for a third night! One night turned into three because it is so delightful! I have cycled 94,000+km around the world and have stayed at well over 1000+ hotels around the world on every continent except Antarctica—Solar Dos Frades is one of the best! Obrigado Ines! We stayed in the Vila and absolutely loved everything about it - it was spacious, beautifully furnished, the kitchen was well equipped and it has an amazing outdoor area including a small pool and a fireplace.
