I spent some time in dar Hkeim because I had to attend university seminars in Sousse. The space exceeded my expectations in every way: it is cozy, bright, and extremely comfortable. Not only is it my recommendation, but I also want to come back there sooner or later. The soft music during breakfast was what I loved the most.

This was the best Bed & Breakfast in a Maison d'hôte I had in Tunisia, what a gem of an accommodation in Sousse's medina, in a local residential area but strategically located a stone's throw away from its main commercial artery leading to the souks with its hustle and buzzle - This house is like a quiet oasis in the medina and it is a traditional Palace renovated according to the original with a lot of attention paid to the details, I felt like travelling back in time and living in a museum - Also I liked the lovely rooftop terrace with the view over the medina and to the Atlantic Ocean - Omar, the owner is a very nice host and living on the premises together with his friendly mum and both together with the staff made sure I was feeling comfortable and enjoyed my stay. Again it were the little details that made the difference and showed how much they care about happy guests, things like serving me a homemade limonade while welcoming me, or bringing me to my room a piece of cake in the evening hours - speaking of the room, I was grateful being apparently assigned the best room of the p(a)lace and I slept like a bey in a luxurious room I would never have imagined finding behind the walls of this building - breakfast was very opulent and yummy, what a filling meal to start the day! - I was also recommended a hammam visit and I fully enjoyed the local atmosphere of the bath house, it was a good advice for an authentic experience which I can only recommend to any visitor while in Sousse
