Everything was nice. The location is incredible itself, pure nature. The view from our room was amazing and sounds around too. From restaurant you need to test sri lankian style food for sure, it is homemade and delicious)) We use hotel’s services for guiding to the forest and it was great.

If you are looking for a quiet homestay in the middle of nature very close to a river and two of the forest reserve entrances, please choose Vini Villa. Being a solo traveller, I really appreciated Vini's and his family's friendliness and hospitality. They will always make sure to cater to their guests' every needs. Food was plentiful and delicious. Vini, the owner, is also very knowledgeable about the forest and animals that live around his home village and will be happy to show you around the rain forest and its many wonders if you wish so. I really enjoyed my time at Vini Villa's for 10 days and the many hikes I went on in the forest and around the village. I wish I could have stayed longer. It was hard to say bye to Vini and his lovely family.

I had such a lovely stay! The family are so sweet and welcoming. I was sick for some of the stay and they made me a herbal tea to help. The food is amazing and the place was clean too. The garden is beautiful and there is a seated area next to the room where you can watch the birds and monkeys. Lots of frogs and squirrels too. Plus the surrounding area is amazing and the house is located near rice paddies and a river with waterfalls. Gihan took me on a guided tour to the rainforest and was so knowledgeable about the rainforest and its wildlife. It was so nice to meet some other guides and see people so dedicated to wildlife and conservation. Overall such a lovely stay and I learnt a lot! Thanks so much!!

My partner and I stayed here for 3 nights, wish we could’ve stayed longer! The villa is super peaceful, the hosts are very kind and welcoming, on hand for anything you need and the rooms were lovely and clean. We have been travelling for a while now, and this was the most peaceful, welcomed and at home we felt in a very long time. The bonus was the incredible food. We ate Sri Lankan food for breakfast, lunch and dinner as we wanted to experience it properly with some spice and the chef exceeded expectations. The food was absolutely incredible and possibly the best we’ve had in a very very long time. Everything was fresh, portions were extremely generous and super flavoursome. We recommend the room with a balcony as you can relax there for hours watching the birds pass by and they get pretty close. Very special. Thank you for being such great hosts and making it special for us!

We stayed here for two nights, doing a guided tour in between. It was a super good stay. Usually, the owner himself does the guided tour. In our case, he was already booked, so his father guided us. He was a great guide, with a lot of love for the forest and a lot of knowledge after guiding people around for already over 20 years. After the tour, we had delicious food, served at the new guesthouse of the owners brother (Wildlife Kingdom, we did not sleep there but it looked also very comfortable with a great view). All other meals were also prepared by the owners wife, and after spending two weeks in Sri Lanka we can say that that was the best food we have had so far! We stayed on the top floor, which was very comfortable. Of course, being close to nature means there will be insects, so be prepared for that ;) Thank you for hosting us!

I had an amazing time her, Bandula the owner and the guide tok me on a very nice hike thru the rainforest an he does everything he can do to make sure you have a good time. after the hike you get very good food from he’s wife and very good service from he’s son. This is the place to go if you want a good experience in this rainforest area.

Such a nice place at the edge of the rain forest. The staff and owners are so nice and fun in a friedly way, so you really feel like home. They arranged us a rainforest tour with their inhouse naturalist, which was really great and insightful. We found the pool amazing at this property. Feeling like we are in a little oasis🥰
