All amenities were available. Check in instructions were clear. The host was very responsive whenever we reached out for any assistance. Although we did not check in early but they accommodated our request when we raised one. Kirkjufell's view from one of the rooms is just out of this world! Totally recommended. We had an amazing time at the Ocean Lair. The place is very comfortable cozy, clean, and spacious. It even has a separate tv room equipped with a massage chair! Its location is very well situated, close to the main road and nearby facilities and tourist attractions especially near the Kirkjufell. The owner is super kind. I’d forgot my purse at the place and left for Reykjavik. I didn’t realize that I had left it there until I’ve reached the town and the owner massaged me. I was so upset and was tired from the driving. As it was my last leg of the two weeks road trip and I was about to catch the plane home the next morning so didn’t want to go back to get it. Even though I had my credit cards and some cash in my purse I was about to let them go and told the owner to please destroy the cards for me. The owner instead told me to hold on and give her time to ask around if anyone she knows is traveling to Reykjavik. I was so glad when she messaged me that her sister is visiting her daughter and would be happy to bring my purse with her and meet at an N1 gas station. I was super lucky that the owner was so nice and I felt very appreciative. It was very kind gesture and I don’t know if I’ve left my purse at some other places, I would get it back. So I would highly recommend this place. My time in Iceland was amazing and the trip ended perfectly with this place the it’s wonderful owner.

Truly beautiful location right at the entrance to Snæfellsnes National Park. The view of the ocean allowed for watching seals and sea birds as well as beautiful sunsets. Really can’t explain the location, it’s incredible!

Communication with the hosts was quick and efficient and the welcome was extremely friendly. Our room with a great view of the little harbour and the island with the lighthouse was cosy, clean and comfortable. Breakfast (15 € per person) was plenty and tasty. The room rates aren't low but the accommodation offers good value for money. Stykkisholmur with its old traditional houses is a pretty small fishing town well worth a visit.
