This amazing gem in the middle of the scenic area just a few Km from the airport had all the comforts in miniature version. I absolutely loved the chance to have a bubble bath under the"cloudy but beautiful sunset sky". The property includes so many extras that I did not get to take advantage of- if I had company I would have loved to have a bonfire in the campfire area that is set up so thoughtfully . From the welcome sign and bowl of fruit on the counter to the host Sybille meeting me and explaining that I should check out the walk to the dam (which was a lovely walk)- her friendliness was so heartwarming and greatly appreciated. I've always wanted to stay in a tiny home and this was better than I could have ever expected.

Beautiful location with the petrified dunes as the back drop. The tents were private and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The food was absolutely excellent and the pool was so nice to sit next to during the heat of the day after our Sossusvlei adventures! We wished we could have stayed here longer!

Camp Gecko - PRIVATE NATURE RESERVE; TENTED CAMP AND CAMPSITE in Solitaire biedt accommodatie met uitzicht op de bergen, een tuin, een terras en een barbecue. Camp Gecko is one of the best memories of our trip! The setting of the large, comfortable tents in the quiet of the desert; the fantastic dinner braai packs with venison steak, salad, home-made bread and even a dessert (as we were not set up for camping, we were given crockery to use for our meal); the swim in the fish pond/pool with mountains in the background; the long shared breakfast table, where we met interesting fellow travellers. The owner Anna and Ernst at reception, who were both lovely, and the beer in the fridge there which was always cold :). We are seriously considering going back there for a longer stay!
