Great option near the main bus station, if you need an overnight stay before taking the local bus to Bukit Lawang. The shopping mall nearby is great to get some food and you can get the bus from right in front of the mall - there is a stop on the main road. The accommodation is very basic but the staff are very friendly and helpful - though no English. Google translate helped.

The host was very nice and always available to help us. Really appreciate the apartment was very clean when we arrive and the host provide us all the necessary stuff (coffee, tea, some food and snacks, products for cleaning house, detergent for washing our cloths, lots of towels so we don’t need to wash it often, etc…). I don’t need to spend extra money for appartement stuff, and all the equipment are very nice (TV with Netflix, good sound system, water filtering, washing machine, microwave, rice cooker…). Really love staying in the apartment with perfect location and access to a big mall (very helpful when it’s in raining no need to go out by car). We also have access in the building to sport machine and to a nice swimming pool. After few days my little boy was sick and vomit in the bed, the host provides us in few hours new bed linen (fitted sheet, pillowcase, blanket…) without additional cost. Thank you again for your warm welcome, I highly recommend this apartment.

We had a great stay at Roemah 28. The staff is super friendly, the food at the restaurant is tasty and they have a huge selection of different coffees. It was no problem to leave our stuff at the reception after checkout, so we could enjoy our day in Medan.
