The owners were exceptional. They could not have been more attentive hosts. The location is wonderful, fronting on to a backwater leading to the lake. Its a tranquil spot, perfect for bird and boat watching. Traditional Keralan Breakfast with a few additions like toast and omelette and coffees were delivered to the seating area in front of each room.

Beautiful hotel right on the lake with lovely gardens and a large swimming pool. We were upgraded to a private pool villa which was spacious, clean and quiet despite renovation work nearby. The reception staff were very helpful and friendly especially Chinnu. The restaurant served a great buffet breakfast and dinner there was delicious! The hotel provided afternoon tea with snacks which we loved. We enjoyed the village walk with Amil who was friendly and informative.

We had the most wonderful stay at BirdScapes Homestay. We were warmly welcomed by Abin and his family, who cooked great meals for us and took us on boat trips. The room is very confortable and has a nice view on the backwaters. We are grateful to have had the chance to stay here for two nights and strongly recommend!

Incredible view, our room had windows and balcony facing the lake. Sunrises were beautiful. Very quiet and serene, tropical birds. Mr Shafi and his team took excellent care of us. He was very helpful with anything we needed, including with tours, transportation, meals, cleaning… The room was big and clean, with AC and fan (which was crucial because the climate is the hottest we’ve experienced in India). It’s located in a very cute area surrounded by canals, temples, jungle, and village houses with friendly and curious locals. No foreigners in sight around. A quiet and peaceful place for an excellent price.
