Everything was PERFECT! :D The hosts were so kind and helpful :D The rooms are confortable and beautiful. The view is amazing too (from ours we could see a small jinja in the garden). The private onsen is great! It is possible to use it from afternoon to 9:00 am. The breakfast is DIVINE. I do recommend booking the breakfast option as well. It is one of the best foods we had in Japan (and we have been living here for more than 3 years) :D. Now we are finding excuses to come back Chichibu again :D.

A delightful and charming find at the top of the hill. Self contained cottages with huge living room on the hotel's woodland property. Traditional tatami mats with futon cushions (I used two) and great duvet sets in the huge bedroom. Arrived late on a scooter on a bitterly cold night, the lovely reception lady (sorry I didn't get her name) supplied me with a kettle, hairdryer, started the heating, even ran me a bath as I was shivering so badly ! When I opened the curtains in the morning, what a beautiful view from my balcony of forests and mountains stretching into the distance. The hotel interior looked gorgeous too. The kindness of the staff was unbelievable. They gifted me a jacket (lost property) to keep me warm for the rest of my holiday. Incredible folk.
