Beautiful restored traditional Japanese home. Spacious, clean and well furnished. The small garden was wonderful as was the delightful welcome we received. Right in the centre of Shimabara and close to all the sights. The town doesn’t appear on many of the tourist sites but is well worth seeking out as a more traditional Japanese town. We even managed to find a great little local place to eat and navigate the menu in Japanese! Fabulous stay, perfect little home and wished we could have stayed longer.

Amazing location: quiet, with a view of the lake and the hills, beautiful views to wake up to. Very easy to find. The host was very pleasant. I was stunned by how spacious the apartment was. There is a little terrace to sit on outside, and the ground floor has a co-working space with a coffee machine and a large manga collection. Definitely one of the top places I have stayed.
