At the hotel around 11 and our room was ready. room had a balcony with a view to the matterhorn. all of the staff were terrific. new bathroom was spiffy. free breakfast was amazing. dinner was excellent. it was stated as a 3 star hotel . . . wrong . . . it was 5 star

The family-run Bristol hotel is situated in a central yet quiet location in Zermatt, between the train station and the Klein Matterhorn cable car. It offers a spa area and free WiFi in all areas. Hotel Walliserhof Zermatt ligger centralt i Zermatt, 300 m fra togstationen. Det er bygget i typisk Valais-chaletstil og tilbyder spa-område med sauna og spabad samt gratis WiFi overalt. Best location, Room and bathroom are spacious and clean, I can see the matterhorn from our room, so lovely.

The road up is a typical mountain road with narrow, winding sections, so drive carefully. 🏡 Our apartment was clean and well-maintained. The bedroom was very comfortable – the bed was great, though the pillows are quite big and high, which might not suit everyone. 🍳 The kitchen is fully equipped, but a few items are a bit worn – for example, the potato peeler was rusty. Also, note that there is no soap or shower gel in the bathroom, so make sure to bring your own. A funny detail: if you need extra toilet paper, you have to request it at reception and pay 0.50 CHF per roll. 🧼 Overall cleanliness was very good. There was a bit of dust in some areas – maybe the apartment hadn’t been used since winter – but towels and linens were fresh and clean. 🚗 Parking is available, but it’s paid. Getting from the parking lot to the room was a bit confusing – we had to switch between three elevators – but you do receive a map with instructions, so don’t worry too much. 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 There’s a small play area for kids with a lovely terrace where parents can relax and enjoy the view. It could use a few more games or toys to make it more engaging. 👀 Our room didn’t have a direct view, but that wasn’t a problem – the terrace offers amazing scenery, and even the walk from the parking lot gives you incredible views. 🤝 The staff was polite and helpful, though not particularly warm – they could be a bit friendlier. 💸 Overall, the value for money was very good, and I would recommend this place for anyone looking for a peaceful mountain escape with all the basics covered.

We loved that our room had a balcony and we could hear the river flowing outside. We also loved having a kitchen as meals in town were expensive so it was great to cook in a bit and have breakfast in the morning. The beds were very comfortable. The location was convenient to hiking, transit stops, shops and restaurants in town. The room was cozy but very well appointed and great for our group of 4 adults.

From arrival to departure, everything exceeded our expectations. The restaurant was an unexpected gem that made the experience even more special. We had a wonderful time — the hotel was impeccably clean, furnished with exceptional attention to detail, and truly felt like a retreat. The food was absolutely incredible — each dish was a delight. It was a genuine pleasure to talk to every member of the staff, as well as the lovely managing couple — their warmth and professionalism made us feel truly welcome. We would love to return one day and relive this amazing experience

Mountain Lodge har udsigt til byen, gratis wi-fi og gratis privat parkering og ligger i Grächen, 42 km fra Allalin Glacier. Balcony with amazing view. Comfortable bed. Coffee machine. Nice breakfast. Good bathroom. We liked everything and hope to stay again someday.
