I stayed both in the private room and then the dorm is also perfect, , only 3 beds and spacy, so this is the perfect option if you want to save some money. Everything is super clean and convenient. Andrea and Marta are adorable people, they help you out with anything and are so kind. I 100% recommend staying here for your trip to lake Atitlan!

The view at this property is genuinely unparalleled with floor to ceiling windows looking out over the volcanoes. The balcony is framed in stunning honeysuckle and tropical flowers that bring hummingbirds right next to you and this is the closest thing to being in nature while still benefitting from the creature comforts of an indoor stay. We didn’t want to move from the chaise beds in front of the window- particularly because the hosts considered and provided so many thoughtful details to enhance the experience (like delicious fluffy bathrobes to enjoy as we drank our morning coffee looking out over Lake Atitlán). We appreciated the yoga mats and the open floor plan that allowed us to do some Barre3 in front of the view with the doors open to bring in the breeze. Even the lighting was extraordinarily thoughtful- with multicolored LEDs enhancing the foliage at night and sound activated lighting that really created some awesome ambiance. And, the host was truly wonderful too, allowing us a later check out so we could properly pack up before our afternoon tour plans in San Juan La Laguna. This was a tremendous value and such an awesome place- we were sad to leave and would stay there again in a hot second when we get to return to San Marcos.

It's lush and green and overlooks the San Juan Mirador and mountains. Best of all it's quiet! The design and position of the cabins are great for privacy but also a bit of community building. Absolutely stunning restaurant with delicious and fresh food. Staff are incredible people full of information, warmth and passion. They are patient and kind. This place is absolutely perfect and possibly underrated. One of the best places I've ever stayed in my 20 years of solo travel. The photos do not do this place justice. It's pure unfiltered magic. Do yourself a favor and book the Temazcal (traditional sauna). You won't regret it. If you get lost, ask a local somewhat close by where Eco Hotel Mayachik is they will know right away. The lack of signage leading to the property is probably a good thing! Keeps it a little hidden. The dogs are friendly and only seem to bark at moving vehicles. One last thing....check for the spiky caterpillars before you climb into bed. One snuck under my pillow.
