Cabins in Kintamani

Honestly Komang the host made this place for me. He is deeply insightful about the local area and took me to visit the oldest temple in Bali and was also able to cater for my vegan dietary requirements which is quite difficult in Kintamani. The room was clean and couldn’t ask for more in the location it is in!

The hosts! They were so so so so so good. I loved staying here, like heaps. The hosts taught me so much about the area, and how special it is. I’m really grateful I stayed here instead of getting a ride from another city just to do the sunrise trek. The view from the room was insanely beautiful too.

We stayed here for ten nights with our children. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with smiles and a warm welcome. Addi is the owner of the twin houses, and his staff and family all help. Honestly, I've never met such an amazing group of people. When we needed help, food, advice and local knowledge, nothing was too much for them and at least one family member is always on hand to help. Addi's family are business people, with everything a tourist needs nearby to the Twin Houses. Between them, the family run a well stocked shop (I recommend the Balinese Arak vodka mixed with Coke), a bike rental outfit, a laundry and a restaurant serving traditional Balinese dishes. Addi also helped transporting us about in his Jeep until we decided to rent scooters, by far the best way to get around, if you can stomach the steep hills and traffic. Over the course of ten days, we got to know the family well and, by the time we left, felt part of them. Several nights drinking Arak cemented a bond that will endure fond memories. One night, we were invited to a family party next door and were treated to home cooked food. Some evenings, we were treated to music by Addi on his guitar, balinese piano and balinese flute. Addi taught my children how to play all three. They lit a fire for us next to the eating area and often we ate and relaxed by fireside in the evenings. In the mornings, we were greeted with big smiles from the resident chef, offers of coffee and breakfast. A great way to start the day. In summary, if you are looking for a taste of genuine Balinese culture, which is centred around family, then this should be on your itinerary. If you stay here, don't be shy, buy a bottle of Arak and coke and join the family, you might regret it in the morning but it'll be worth it. Thank you Addi, Addi's family and friends. Very nice hotel. Authentic bamboo cabin at the foot of Batur. You have your own hot springs pool. At the hotel you can arrange a guide for climbing the volcano.
